This is Norman. She saw a lot of things in her 50+ years, the majority of those with her human, who found her on a walk. Every 10 year-old human needs a pet and Norman would be his. Turns out Norman was a girl but the name stuck, and she carried on in life, watching her human hit milestone after milestone. Drivers licenses, graduations, marriage, children and moves from state to state. (Her portrait went through multiple states too! I thought she’d never arrive!) She may have never learned of her love for bananas and strawberries if not for the 10 year old out for a walk. I hope her portrait makes him smile like he did when he found her over 30 years ago. Rest is peace Norman.

This is Lena and Dabs. As with most of our pets, they mean the world to their human. After Lena’s recent passing her human asked for a portrait of Lena and her littermate Dabs. When I finished the painting their human said something to me that stuck a chord. Upon seeing the finished portrait she said, “It makes my heart feel better.” Aside from just getting joy from painting, her words really brought forth why -in particular painting pet portraits - brings me joy. It’s seeing my client’s faces when they hold the portrait the first time or reading their first text after I’ve sent a picture of the portrait. That is when the real joy for me comes. It makes my heart happy knowing that I made their hearts feel better. ❤️

This is Piko. More than one human cherished this sweet baby. I was honored to put to paper his sweet face not once but three times. I even put together a clip of photos for one of them, which was fun to do I just had to remember to take pictures along the way! I know he’s still missed, but hoping all are happy with their portrait.

Clearly someone was a bit of a slacker in 2025 when it came to postings. So let me catch you up on some of the paintings I did last year.

I experimented with merging pet portraits and some impressionistic classics. (The latter NOT being in my comfort zone) This has all the favs for my daughter’s first semester away at college.

I don’t think this is anything she’ll hang 20 years from now but she told me “his eyes are perfect.” And that was enough for me, because that part IS my comfort zone. 🥰

It’s not often I get to meet my subjects, but I got to do just that today! Meet Asha! Her humans brought her along to pick up her portrait and I was greeted with excitement, sweetness, and even a few kisses from this sweet bundle of cuteness. Her humans were super nice too! 😊

Meet Jake. He was a lucky dog. His human adopted him late in his life, but gave him a lifetime worth of love. Honored that his human’s sister asked me to paint him as a special gift after his passing. A loving gesture honoring the gift of love her sister gave to Jake. ❤️

It will never cease to amaze me how big dogs can curl themselves up into such tiny balls, maybe it’s just because this sweet girl has a lot of fluff! Meet Shelby Blue! No matter how she looks at her humans, they can only seem to look back into her one blue eye. Were you drawn to it too?
