✨Kitten Update✨

Say hello to Cottonball! If you remember a couple of weeks ago, we took in two little white kittens who were very sick with flea anemia and required a blood transfusion. While Cottonball's littermate sadly did not make it, this sweet boy is doing incredibly well after some much needed TLC from our veterinary staff. Inquisitive and playful, we see a bright future ahead for this little one!

Nana is a chill gal who enjoys the simple things in life like a soft bed and a full belly. She’s a kind soul, albeit a bit on the shy side. She would rather watch from the sidelines, or a warm lap, than engage with any kind of roughhousing. Nana is really looking to be someone’s lifelong companion and as such would make a wonderful addition to any household.

🐾 Litterbox Tips & Tricks 🐾

We know how frustrating it can be when your cat refuses to use the litterbox, so we compiled a list of tips and tricks to help troubleshoot your feline friend's bathroom habits.

🎀 Location is important. Cats like a quiet place to do their business, so choose a low traffic area to put their litterbox that also provides escape routes.

🎀 Make sure the litterbox is of an adequate size. It should be large enough to allow your cat to comfortably turn around in it without touching the sides.

🎀 Take the shape of the litterbox into consideration. For example, if your cat is older or special needs, they may need a box with lower sides to make it easier for them to get in and out.

🎀 Cats have an extraordinary sense of smell, meaning strong scents can be off-putting. Avoid scented litters and harsh chemicals. Make sure to clean their litterbox at least once a day and deep clean it at least every two weeks.

🎀 Provide enough litterboxes for your cats. As a rule of thumb, you should have one litterbox per a cat plus one extra. If you live in a two-story house, make sure the other floor has an additional litterbox.

🎀 Provide about 3 inches of litter in their box in order to allow them to dig and cover their waste.

🎀 If all else fails, take them to your veterinarian to rule out any medical issues.

🐾 We are a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization meaning we are tax exempt and rely on donations to help fund our mission.
🐾 Our pillars are Community, Advocacy, Research, and Education.
🐾 We are dedicated to helping homeless cats and promoting informed pet ownership.
🐾 Our $150 adoption fee includes their spay or neuter as well as age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchip, and FIV/FeLV testing.
🐾 We have rescued over 500 cats and kittens! 🙀

These two little kittens were brought to us in critical condition. They have a severe case of flea anemia that required a blood transfusion.
