Figapalooza 2026 - Greenville's Fig Festival
🍈 Animals have always been part of the farm story. 🍈
When people think about orchards, they usually picture trees, fruit, pruning, grafting, and harvest baskets. But for most of agricultural history, animals were part of that picture too.
Animals helped farms cycle fertility, manage vegetation, break down waste, protect crops and livestock, and turn the edges of a farm into something useful. Manure fed the soil. Grazing animals helped manage grass and weeds. Chickens, ducks, geese, sheep, goats, livestock guardian dogs, and farm cats all had their place in the larger farm system.
That way of thinking still shows up today in permaculture, regenerative agriculture, homesteading, and integrated farm systems. A farm is not just a collection of separate parts. It is a living system, and animals often help that system work.
That is one of the reasons we are grateful to have The Outpatient Veterinary Clinic supporting Figapalooza 2026.
Their work may be centered on everyday veterinary care, wellness visits, owner education, diagnostics, and basic medical management, but the larger connection is simple: healthy communities care for animals, and animals have always been part of the way farms, families, and rural places function.
Figapalooza is a celebration of figs, gardening, rare fruit, food, history, farming, and community. That includes the plants we grow, the soil we care for, the animals that share our farms and homes, and the local businesses that help keep our community strong.

Figapalooza is returning for its 4th year after welcoming 900+ attendees and 40+ vendors last year.
Come join us for figs, plants, food trucks, baked goods, artisan vendors, raffle prizes, fig education, rare fruit, and a family-friendly community atmosphere.
