๐Ÿฑ Wellness Wednesday ๐Ÿฑ

Cats may seem independent, but mental enrichment is incredibly important for their overall health and happiness! Keeping your cat mentally stimulated can help prevent boredom, stress, destructive behaviors, and even weight gain.

Simple enrichment activities like window perches, puzzle feeders, climbing towers, laser toys, treat hunts, and interactive play sessions help encourage natural instincts such as hunting, climbing, and exploring. Even setting aside 10โ€“15 minutes a day for dedicated playtime can make a huge difference in your catโ€™s confidence and wellbeing.

A busy cat is a happy cat! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ

Our doctors do so much here at Animal Hospital of Pitt County. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ ๐Ÿฉบ
Throughout the day, they are diagnosing illnesses, performing surgeries, reviewing lab work and x-rays, creating treatment plans, handling emergencies, educating clients, and making difficult decisions to help provide the best possible care for every patient. ๐Ÿฉบ ๐Ÿพ

Behind the scenes, our veterinarians spend countless hours reviewing records, returning calls, communicating with staff, monitoring hospitalized patients, and continuing their education to stay up to date in veterinary medicine. Every day brings new challenges, emotional moments, and unexpected situations, but they continue to show compassion, dedication, and commitment to the animals and families they care for. โš•๏ธ

Being a veterinarian requires not only medical knowledge, but patience, empathy, teamwork, and an enormous amount of heart. ๐Ÿฅ โค๏ธ

We are incredibly grateful for everything our doctors do each day to help keep your pets healthy, comfortable, and loved โค๏ธ

Running a veterinary hospital takes tremendous teamwork, communication, organization, and heart โ€” and Sam helps make all of that possible every single day. ๐Ÿ’™
As our hospital manager, Sam wears many hats throughout the clinic. From supporting our doctors, technicians, assistants, kennel staff, and reception team to helping clients and keeping daily operations running smoothly, there is always something needing her attention.

Whether sheโ€™s solving problems behind the scenes, helping coordinate schedules, assisting during busy moments, managing the unexpected, or stepping in wherever needed, Sam helps keep our hospital moving day in and day out.
Veterinary medicine can be fast-paced and unpredictable, and many of the things hospital managers handle often go unseen. Long days, constant multitasking, difficult situations, emotional moments, and making sure both staff and clients feel supported are all part of the job.

Through it all, Sam continues to lead with patience, dedication, and compassion for both people and pets.
Her support helps create a positive environment for our team and enables us to provide the best possible care for our patients. We are incredibly thankful for everything she does behind the scenes and beyond to help our hospital function each day.
Thank you, Sam, for your hard work, leadership, and everything you do for our team, clients, and patients. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑโœจ

๐ŸŒฟ Wellness Wednesday ๐ŸŒฟ

Did you know regular wellness exams can help detect health concerns before your pet ever shows symptoms? ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿพ

Pets are experts at hiding discomfort, which is why routine checkups are so important. Annual (or semi-annual for seniors) exams allow your veterinary team to monitor weight, dental health, heart health, mobility, and other subtle changes that could signal underlying illness early on.

Preventive care helps keep your pets healthier, happier, and by your side for years to come. ๐Ÿ’™

If your pet is due for a wellness exam, give us a call โ€” weโ€™d love to help keep them feeling their best! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ

๐Ÿพ Tip Tuesday ๐Ÿพ

Did you know that keeping your pet mentally enriched is just as important as physical exercise? ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’™
Puzzle toys, sniff walks, training sessions, and even simple games of hide-and-seek can help reduce boredom, relieve anxiety, and improve overall behavior in dogs. Mental stimulation helps keep pets happy, confident, and engaged โ€” especially during rainy days or hot summer weather when outdoor activity may be limited.
Other activities like lick mats and frozen treats can also provide mental stimulation and can decrease boredom and distructive behavior.

A mentally stimulated pet is often a healthier and happier pet! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ
Whatโ€™s your petโ€™s favorite enrichment activity? Tell us in the comments! โฌ‡๏ธ

๐Ÿพ Meet the Staff Monday ๐Ÿพ

Meet Charlie Rose, one of our wonderful Veterinary Assistants here at the hospital! Charlie Rose has been with us for a year and loves getting to see familiar clients and patients while helping pets feel their very best. She especially enjoys running bloodwork, providing patient care, and getting to spend time with all of the adorable puppies and kittens that come through our doors.

When asked about her favorite type of animal, her answer was simple โ€” she loves every creature! Outside of work, Charlie Rose enjoys playing video games, painting, and drawing. While sheโ€™s still figuring out exactly where her future career goals may take her, she says becoming a streamer might be in the cards someday. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Charlie Rose is also a proud pet parent to several beloved companions. Gia, her โ€œsoul dog,โ€ grew up alongside her, and the two love going on walks, boating adventures, and cuddling together. Luke, her wild child, loves jumping in the water and playing with his sister, while her cats Louie and Spook keep things cozy at home with plenty of naps and cuddles.

Weโ€™re so grateful to have Charlie Rose as part of our team โ€” be sure to say hello next time you see her around the hospital! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ
