SNOW EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Residents of the City of Greencastle:
⚠️Snow Emergency: The Mayor of the City of Greencastle is anticipating a Snow Emergency per Sec. 8-33 of the City Code, due to severe winter weather conditions that are impacting our area. Significant snowfall has begun, and is expected to continue through this evening 12/13, resulting in hazardous travel conditions and blocked roadways.
⚠️This Snow Emergency will go into effect as soon as 4 inches of snow has fallen in Greencastle.
🚙Parking Regulations: To facilitate snow removal efforts, the City is requesting that all vehicles be parked off the streets in driveways where possible. This will significantly help our plowing crews to be able to thoroughly plow the streets.
🚨Travel Advisory: The City strongly advises against non-essential travel. If travel is necessary, please ensure that you have warm clothing, blankets, and fully charged cell phones.
‼️Emergency Services: In case of emergencies, please contact 911. Stay tuned for updates on road conditions, snow removal efforts, and further instructions.
