Pumpkin Carving Ideas, tips tricks and hacks
We tried all the new trends I’ve seen going around on all the social media.
🎃 take off the bottom not the top (we used bowls to hold them still)
🎃 use a hand mixer to loosen the guts
🎃 remove the guts (into the bowl we used to hold them cutting the bottom)
🎃 use dry erase (red) to draw faces so you have some grace with the cutting without seeing lines
🎃 use cookie cutters and a hammer (ones with no little ledge and metal seemed to work best)
🎃 they worked great, will be using all of these again!

Today’s double booking- trunk or treat for dad and the kids, mom autism board meeting (took digital to eliminate the over an hour in the car) and construction. So close….. at least this room.

spooky eggs!
🥚 hard boil eggs. I use my egg maker.
🥚 I cracked all the shells gently, put in cold water to cool them down, and dropped food coloring in that cold water. Stir.
🥚 let sit about an hour
🥚 using a spoon take them out and dry them off.
🥚 peel to reveal spooky eggs!
Super easy to do and a fun, healthy, spooky treat.

Today’s double booking- cottage/construction/Nolan chaos and Halloween a Hootenanny. The younger kids and dad went to the cottage to help remove the docks while mom worked ok construction and Nolan deconstructed frosted mini wheats EVERYWHERE (that Sharkira the vacuum didn’t finish cleaning because Nolan also brought a tomato plant in and her wheels got stuck🤦🏻‍♀️) and run home to make our annual friends Halloween hootenanny. Halloween food and costumes required. Any Yellowstone fans? How’d we do?

Don’t let smiles and photos make you think today was great. There were a lot of tears on my part today and the tumors set back would send me back to tears. It’s a hard phase right now but I’m pushing through- but I’m human, too. Thank you to the group of friends that let me have my moments and time and space and without my saying or asking waiting for a better time to do the group photo. And to the husband that was patient and kind with me today.

It’s always all at once!
Thursday was dad working out of town, mom did bus, quick turn around, school fall fest trick or treat (Nolan used his AAC best ever!) and shopping cart EddieDog actually carried the bucket! My friend and co-worker brought Stella from Poms practice to quick turnaround and head to Welcoming Willows third annual fundraiser since Alex Gloudemans is on the board. Nolan may have found the dessert tray before dinner. The kids loved cheers-ing their fancy glasses. Onto the next chaos and double booking!

Annual Sprangers Orchard (now a part of Schmalz Acres) trip! Pick your own apples, caramel apples and new this year apple c***r slushy that was 😘 👌🏻

It’s been a CRAZY fall with back to school, mom working, transitions, meetings, Poms, neurotypical kid in middle school, advocating for neurodivergent kid, AND the double construction project….but we’re still trying to do the things, make the memories.

Completely deflate blow up toys for the off season with an air pump.
While it is possible to just let the air out, using a pump will remove ALL excess air allowing the toy to be as compact as possible for off season storage.
