You ever think to your self “it won’t work”?

Sometimes it crosses my mind, but that’s all does
“crosses” then I put my head down, figure it out, plant some more flats, run some deliveries, talk with my great customers, and keep going!

The “it won’t work” mindset will get you know where, that’s a fact!

Question we get from time to time we is “when do you move your microgreens from germination to light?”

Most varieties are going to be in a 72 hour germination window, some a little faster and some a little slower. There are also varieties that take days longer. With most varieties we typically move them to the systems under the light once they have full sprouted and are 1” to 1-1/4” tall or in that general range.

Sunflower Shoots

About 90% of our customers want their sunflower shoots cut/packaged, with only a handful taking living flats of them. Really all depends on space, volume, and on how fast the customer plans to use them.

Huge benefit of sunflower shoots cut and packaged is that they have a great shelf life in the fridge!

Ruby Red Swiss Chard

I’ve grown a ton of chard in the past and this last batch has definitely been like learning all over again. Truthfully I think it’s tied more to the seed than anything. I changed up soil, soaking time, planting methods, and watering cycles and think I have it figured back out. Seems a longer soak then normal is helping soften the seed hulls which is yielding much better germination rates! Still need to figure out a way to get them to shed the hulls better thou.

The people who you think would be your biggest fans, the people who would route you on sit in silence. It’s the people you’ve never met, never spoke to that are in the comments routing you on, yea there’s gonna be that Karen here and there but hey deep down they are your fan too!

The phases of broccoli microgreens starting from straight out of germination to being moved to the grow systems under the lights to ready to harvest!

Broccoli microgreens have been a popular one lately with our residential customers, some even eating them daily all by themselves as part of their daily nutrition regiment!
