Mika and her breeder, showing the world what a proper working Anatolian should look like! Well done to you both , you did amazing!!

Funny part is the day before Heidi came to pick her up at the farm, I was mortified because Mika was covered in sap from sleeping under pines trees, smelled like skunk because she got one that was crossing her pasture and was just in overall working dog mode. Heidi turned the knight princess into a real queen in a matter of hours! A real pro!

We had the opportunity to get away for a couple days and I had the pleasure of showing our Wicked- Puck daughter at the 2025 Anatolian National. This powerhouse three year old won Best of Winners for a five point major at the supported entry, thus finishing her AKC Championship. She became the 19th offspring of Tribocie Puck to earn their Championship. That win allowed her to compete as a Special for The National Specialty, where she was awarded an Award of Merit and Best Working Dog title. Mika becomes the fifth Puck offspring to be awarded a Best Working Dog or Best Op title.

We cannot be more proud of our genetics holding their own in a ring full of polished show dogs. Mika works 300 acres and this was only her fifth show in her three years.

Hush and Lolo took some firsts and reserves and each is a couple points from finishing their Championships as well.

Virginia attended with her Kaya/Zoran daughter who is ten years old and they lit up the ring. So proud of that duo.

The National Soecialty is the one show we try to attend each year if it’s fairly close. Our objective is to keep the full time working dogs in front of the judges so they can see the working dog/show dog spilt happening in the breed.

This lovely judge had a great conversation with me ringside after the show was over. She spoke of how my dogs were different than the other dogs in the ring. She went on to say she was there to pick a show dog, somehow justifying her choices to me. Education is key. They don’t know what they don’t know. A working dog and a show dog SHOULD be one and the same. The second they become different, they lose their purpose. They lose their ability to do what they were bred for. They lose their identity.

Please stop caving to the generic show dog antics. Your dog is not functional in a field when its head is held high and its leg motion is that of a hackney pony.

Part of being a Preservation Breeder is staying away from trend breeding. Keep your dogs field functional.

Both Stallions are by Manu Forti’s Pride of Place. Her first filly, Deanfield McGintys Pride by Braveheart, owned by Annie Fitzgerald and bred by Debbie Fullilove, was also awarded class 1. This incredible mare comes from a long line of amazing mares who also produced a lot of beautiful Irish draught. She is writing a name for herself through her beautiful offsprings! Long live Queen Scarlett ! Thank you beautiful and thank you to all involved, especially to my husband, who always believes in us and never let me give up on my dreams. I’m so thankful to have you as my life partner ♥️
