Blue Rider Stables We are a nonprofit therapeutic riding stable in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts Blue Rider Stables is a non-profit, therapeutic riding center.

We do bareback riding at our facility in South Egremont, MA. We have a herd of 15 equines, many of whom have been rescued and retrained to do the amazing work they do. They live naturally in a herd - no stalls here!

Today is the day! Circus is almost here. The forecast says it will be cool 😎 but that the rain this morning will be just enough to take care of the dust in the ring, and it will be gone before we start! Arlo and Billy are pleased to announce that we have a sturdier tent this year, too 🎪🐦‍🔥

Just over twelve hours until Farm Dog Fern's first Circus! (10:30 Saturday morning 🐕) She has been helping us prepare, assisting the instructors, supervising practices, and being very helpful with costume making.

Behind the scenes Circus prep: keeping and working with horses in a herd sometimes is quite entertaining! Do you see who "volunteered" to be in the Helper drill? (He kept coming back to join them, too, and even walked with them for a bit!) 🐎
We're really excited to see the Helper drill and all the others on Saturday. Almost as excited as Tonka.... We hope you'll join us (10:30 to 12:30, at the barn, $20 per car, bake sale, Hippity Hop Shop, raffle, and donkeys! 🫏) so you can see what we've all been working on 🎪🐴

It's been a busy few weeks, with more to come! Circus preparations are well underway. We're creating and practicing our drills (the Helpers have some exciting ideas they're working on), playing music, and talking about costumes. We've been practicing no matter the weather, hoping that last year's rain and wind will be replaced but sunshine 🌞 this year!

Join us Saturday, May 30th, from 10:30 to 12:30 for our annual Blue Rider Circus 🎪
RAIN OR SHINE (as anyone who joined us last year can tell you, but with new and improved tents!)
Come watch our riders shine and show what they've been working on this year. Music, costumes, bake sale, Roger the Jester, and donkeys 🫏 (maybe some dragons as well)
$20 per car, free admission. Proceeds from parking, bake sale, and Hippity Hop Shop go to support our herd 🐎

Happy Birthday, Bella Mia!
Our beautiful Bella turns twenty-eight today!* Bella is the only one of our herd who was born at Blue Rider. She demands every rider's best effort, and in return gives them her best every time. She's one of our best teachers, and loved by many. One of her roan patches this year looks like a heart, don't you think? 🤎
