Forrest came to us with a severe upper respiratory infection and dental disease. He was at a high kill shelter and scheduled for euthanasia. His medical issues were addressed. His teeth are sparkly clean and he is feeling and looking much better! He is a chronic snuffler. He will always sneeze periodically but he does not require regular medication. He is ready to find a forever home ❤ We are estimating him to be 9 years old. He is neutered, vaccinated, and feline leukemia and fiv negative. He coos like a pigeon (see video in comments!) If you want to add this sweet boy to your home, please contact the hospital or apply via PetFinder https://www.petfinder.com/cat/forrest-77419039/tn/goodlettsville/middle-tennessee-veterinary-center-tn1042/

Welcome Shaw to our One Dog Program! (Technically he is as big as a dog so he flew in under the radar.) Shaw came to us from Montgomery County Animal Care and Control where it was noted he was drinking a lot of water. He also had a growth in his mouth. He was diagnosed with diabetes and is now well managed with a pill once a day. He also had the growth removed and it was benign!

Shaw is ready for forever placement. If you would like to open your home to a special needs senior please contact the hospital or apply on PetFinder - https://www.petfinder.com/cat/shaw-77419055/tn/goodlettsville/middle-tennessee-veterinary-center-tn1042/

UPDATE: Moses had his surgery yesterday and he is recovery in the ER. Surgery had to be postponed on Tuesday so he could receive a plasma transfusion. The surgeon corrected his liver shunt, removed 2 foreign bodies from his stomach, removed an undescended testicle, removed bladder stones, and biopsied his intestines. He required a second transfusion post-operatively. We are very short of his goal to cover his costs, if you are able to help in any way we would be so grateful. Thank you ❤️

Dough Boy, a master biscuit maker, snuck into our one dog program with a tail pull injury. When he came to us he was unable to use his hind legs, and could not urinate or defecate on his own. He received class IV laser treatments and physical therapy. He has made a complete recovery and is now available for adoption through Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue 💙💙💙

We welcomed Tali into our one dog family back in May! Tali is the poster child for why it is so important to keep up with annual vaccinations as well as monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.

Tali came to us from Montgomery County Animal Care and Control fighting for her life with a parvo virus infection. Additional testing also showed she was positive for 3 intestinal parasites, 2 tick-borne diseases, and heartworm disease. All of her illnesses were completely preventable! She spent a week in our isolation room recovering from parvo. She then went into a foster home to begin her heartworm treatment. She completed the heartworm injections and has been adopted! Happy tails Tali ❤🐾

Welcome Moses, our newest addition to the One Dog Family! ❤️
Moses came to us from Montgomery County Animal Care and Control.

Shortly after entering animal control Moses started exhibiting neurological signs. He was wobbly, star-gazing, disoriented, and head-pressing. Moses was diagnosed with a suspected portosystemic shunt and schedule for an internal medicine consult at a local specialty hospital. Unfortunately, Moses' condition rapidly deteriorated and he was admitted through the ER where he has remained for stabilization over the weekend. He will get a CT Scan to assess him for surgery to correct the shunt today 7/21. Portosystemic shunts cause blood to by-pass the liver. Since the liver filters toxins, when blood does not go through the liver the toxins build up and go to the brain causing the clinical signs Moses is manifesting. The shunts can be closed and prognosis is good for recovery.

MTVC is committed to the dogs that come through our One Dog Program. The Specialty hospital bill is already up to $7833 without surgery and we need your help to save him. Please consider making a donation in one of the following ways:
1. Call the hospital and donate with a credit card 615-766-8023
2. Mail a check made out to MTVC at 910 Meadowlark Lane, Goodlettsville TN 37072. Mark the memo line with Moses.

Don't let his intimidating look fool you, Cannon is just a snorting piggy who wants to go wee wee wee into his forever home! We think he is a Shar Pei mix, around 6 years old, current on vaccines, and negative for heartworm. He is set to be neutered. He was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, has been started on medication and is doing well! He is great with children, other dogs, and cats. He is a real sweetheart. His favorite thing to do is roll around in the grass outside in the sunshine! 💚🐾

Please visit PetFinder and fill out an application if you are interesting in adopting! You can email [email protected] if you have additional questions.

Please SHARE our sweet piggy boy Cannon!

Keebler is another case that we assisted Montgomery County Animal Care and Control in treating. Keebler presented with puppy strangles, also known as juvenile cellulitis. It is a rare and painful skin condition that affects young puppies. He was treated with antibiotics, steroids, and daily baths. There is some permanent scarring to his nose but he has otherwise made a full recovery. Dr. P's husband fell in love with this little guy during his treatment and he is now a part of their family! 💙

We have been fortunate to be able to help Montgomery County Animal Care and Control with some interesting cases recently. Some of these animals are now available for adoption at their facility.

Cobain came into MCACC with a very large growth on his right front foot. Dr. P removed the growth by amputating the toe. The growth was submitted for biopsy. The great news is it was benign and the margins were clear! Cobain is 4 years old, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines and neutered. He is a goofball that has won everyone over at the shelter. He is great with children and loves to play with other dogs. Please contact Montgomery County Animal Control if you are interested in adopting.

We helped this sweetie when she had pneumonia. She is the BEST girl! Please help Crossroads Pets- Shop & Adopt help Harlan if you can ❤️‍🩹

🚨 Harlan needs YOUR help! 🚨

Our sweet girl Harlan started limping on Monday afternoon. Turns out, she played a little too hard and ended up with a small fracture in her rear leg. She is scheduled to go into surgery tomorrow to repair the injury. However, this surgery is going to be pretty expensive, and that's where YOU come in! We would love to raise some funds to help cover this surgery cost for our happy little Harlan! If you are able to help, please use the link below to donate towards her vet care!
