Five more deer ready to go to their forever home! I have four more deer almost ready for finishing work and two that are starting the drying process as they were just mounted today. Hoping to mount three more this week and another three next week 💪🏼

Once I get the three deer mounted next week then I will be switching gears and focusing on all my small game, bears and skulls!

Mounted three more deer this week, have five deer to finish next week and hopefully will be mounting four more! Only a handful of deer left from the 2024 and then I will be spending all spring mounting all my small game and getting my skulls done that I am behind on. Then hopefully I’ll be able to start on my 2025 mounts this summer 😃

It’s been awhile since I have posted in here so I thought I’d reintroduce myself - my name is Lauren Dixon and I am the owner/operator of Cifax Taxidermy! My husband and I have been married for eight years and we have one cutie little son.

I have been doing taxidermy for over 22 years and I started my own business during COVID. For the last 17 years, I had a Monday - Friday corporate job. I worked from home for about five years due to COVID until the fall of 2025 when they brought us back into the office. Being in the office everyday took a toll on me mentally. I was having a hard time trying to balance being a Mother, wife, employee and business owner at the same time. I felt as though I was failing in all aspects of my life. After several talks with my husband, we decided something needed to change.

Therefore, I quit my corporate job of 17 years last week and I am now a full time taxidermist! I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has brought me work and referred me to their friends and family! If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be able to do what I love.

For everyone that is waiting on a mount from me, I am steadily working on getting them back to you. I know I am behind and I appreciate your patience more than you know! With that being said - my books are currently CLOSED so that I can focus on getting myself caught up.

I am very excited for this new chapter in life and to see where my little taxidermist business will take me 🤍

I’ve been working hard on getting these mounts done that I’m running out of room on my walls to hang them! I have five deer ready for pick up and five deer drying getting ready to be finished along with two bears and a bobcat!

I am almost caught up on everything prior to the 2024 season - keeping me on track to get my 2024 mounts done before the 2025 season starts!

Thank you all for your patience and for trusting me with your mounts!

It would appear posting on social media is not my strong suit 😅

I’m steadily getting mounts done and ready for pick as well as steadily getting deer in! Check out my Facebook for an updated price list for the 2024 season.

A few things for this season - I am not taking in any bear, squirrels or coyotes this year. I am also limiting how many deer and other small game I am going to take so that I can ensure everything gets back in a timely manner.

My estimated time for deer mounts are a year and anything else is a year and a half to two years. As a reminder - this is a hobby/side job. I have a normal Mon-Fri job so I’m not always available during the day but if you can’t get me by calling, send me a text or message!

As always, thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their mounts and have been patient with me getting them out. I truly appreciate it!

A sweet woman that I work with brought me these BEAUTIFUL antlers from a deer her grandfather killed many years ago. The deer was originally mounted (I think in the 70’s) and was taken apart but the antlers saved.

She wanted a way to preserve and showcase these beautiful antlers so I did a simple antler mount that now will be hung over her pretty rock fireplace 💛

These antlers were too pretty to take a picture of in my basement so I brought them to my sunroom since the suede looked good against my rug lol

First fox mounted under Cifax Taxidermy that was picked up by a happy customer this past weekend 🦊

Have a bear, squirrel and deer currently drying and up next to mount this week/weekend are a couple deer, squirrel and some skull mounts. Trying to knock out as many mounts as I can before my batch at the tannery is ready so be on the lookout for some more pictures!
