Diamonds in the Ruff Canine Rescue - DITR The mission of Diamonds in the Ruff Canine Rescue is to find healthy, loving, lifelong homes for dogs already born into this world.

We are located in Goldsboro, North Carolina. 501c3 since April of 2007. We rescue dogs from our local animal shelter or off the streets and give them a chance to find a forever, loving home. We believe

in taking care of the existing dogs and puppies instead of supporting breeding that most often results in suffering and homeless animals.

Meet Barbie!

Barbie is two years old. She is spayed, house-trained and up to date on vaccines, heartworm and flea prevention.
This sweet girl came from a hoarding situation. At only 20 lbs, she looks bigger in her picture than she actually is.
Barbie is spunky, shy at first and just wants love. She has to trust you first. Everything needs to be on her terms. Patience is important!
She loves other dogs and shows no interest in cats.

This little girl was found on Thanksgiving Day after being hit by a car. She was on the side of the road and could barely lift her head. We took her to the vet and had X-rays done. Fortunately, nothing was broken. A lot of painful bruising and she has road rash on her little face. She also has terrible ear mites. So we named her Pumpkin and brought her home with antibiotics, nexgard and pain meds.
Pumpkin is only 6 lbs and between 6 months and a year old. Today is day 5 and she is doing much better, eating, drinking and using her litter box. When she is ready, we will get her completely vetted. And then try to find her a wonderful home.
