🐍 RATTLESNAKE AVOIDANCE CLINIC IS COMING TO GOLDEN VALLEY! 🐍

The legendary team of Brian, Kevin, and JJ are hitting the road again this summer, bringing their highly respected Rattlesnake Avoidance Training Program to communities across the region!

This is a valuable opportunity to help protect your dog from potentially dangerous encounters with rattlesnakes. Many people are surprised to learn that more dogs are bitten by rattlesnakes during the fall months than at any other time of the year. Make sure your dog is prepared before the season arrives.

🇺🇸 4th of July K9 Safety Tips 🇺🇸

The 4th of July is one of the busiest times of year for animal shelters and lost pet reports. Fireworks, large gatherings, and unfamiliar noises can cause even the most well-behaved dog to panic and attempt to escape.

Here are some important safety tips to help keep your dog safe this holiday:

✅ Check Your Dog's ID Tags Make sure your dog's collar is secure and that all identification tags have current phone numbers and contact information.

✅ Update Your Microchip Information A microchip is only effective if the information is current. Verify your contact information and consider adding your veterinarian as an additional emergency contact.

✅ Speak With Your Veterinarian Early If your dog struggles with anxiety, fear of loud noises, or fireworks, contact your veterinarian before the holiday to discuss anxiety medications or other management options. Don't wait until the last minute.

✅ Take a Current Photo Take a clear, up-to-date photo of your dog before the festivities begin. If your dog becomes lost, having a recent photo can be extremely helpful when creating flyers or sharing information with local shelters and social media groups.

✅ Keep Dogs Indoors Even dogs that normally spend time outside should be brought indoors before fireworks begin.

✅ Provide Enrichment Activities Help keep your dog occupied with frozen KONGs, food puzzles, lick mats, chew items, and other enrichment activities that encourage relaxation and mental engagement.

✅ Create a Safe Space Set up a crate or quiet room away from windows where your dog can feel secure. Close curtains and consider using background noise such as a television, fan, or calming music.

⚠️ Remember: A frightened dog can do things they would never normally do. Dogs have been known to jump fences, break through screens, and even crash through windows while attempting to escape loud noises.

A little preparation now can help ensure a safe and stress-free holiday for both you and your dog.

Photos from last night's Drop-In Class,

What a fun group of owners and dogs.
We spent lots of time working the dogs on the cool grass as the temperature was warm. We had fun doing different skills that were instructed from different people from ASCTI Certified to well educated owners. This is what true community support is all about sharing all levels of knowledge of canine behavior, obedience skills it keeps things fun and fresh. We even had a dog handler swap this builds better trainers better owners and helps the dogs learn that anyone can handle them this is really important for dogs to learn and understand it will reduce stress when they go to the groomer and vet.
Train and learn from the best
