Little mister Breeze loves going for walks in the park! With fearful dogs, puppies, or dogs who missed out on socialization, the key to helping them is making life FUN. Setting up experiences to be positive or neutral is the goal.

Never force your dog/puppy to explore or greet people or other dogs. Let them set the pace and reward them for brave little moments. Get out your best, more disgusting and cringey baby talk!

Training and focusing on the handler comes second. Once your dog is feeling more comfortable in their surroundings, you will notice they will be able to focus on you more easily!

Celebrating a great session with Miss Worthy! Living in an urban environment can be scary for some dogs. Recently, Worthy was experiencing fear with seeing the dumpsters outside. But today we were able to work through this and have a positive experience 💚🍀

Congrats to Co**ha and her family on finishing 4 behavior modification lessons! It was so great to work with you his family. Co**ha is extremely similar to my personal dog. It was very rewarding to see her warm up to me at her own pace. We ended today’s lesson with lots of pets that Co**ha initiated on her own 💚🍀

Dogs like Co**ha are the inspiration behind my slogan “Help your pet be happy-go-lucky.” Particularly during/after COVID, dogs didn’t get much socialization with strangers. This results in dogs feeling conflicted about new people- a mixture of fear and curiosity that they and their people don’t quite understand or know how to work through. Generalization takes time (and lots of treats). Teaching our dogs that new people are not as scary as they might think was the reason I started Four Leaf 💚

Four Leaf is participating in the 2026 Phoenix MS Walk!

Anyone is welcome to join and/or donate to our team. Four Leaf is dedicated to supporting people with disabilities build positive relationships with their pets. Most often, these relationships can be built into service dog teams. Having a service dog can make a world of difference for someone with a dynamic disability such as MS.

Thank you to everyone who walked and donated last year. We were one of the top fundraisers in 2025!

These are all of the scariest things people have said to me about my reactive dog.

One of the best things I have done with my reactive dog is trick training. Not just because it is fun for both of us. But also because it helps us keep strangers at bay. An overbearing stranger who wants to interact with your dog and doesn’t listen to instructions is a huge liability. By doing a little show-and-tell with tricks, everyone is happy and learning without touching!
