4th of July Countdown: 13 Days to Go! 🇺🇸🐾

Fireworks and holiday festivities can be stressful for pets, and every year many animals go missing during the holiday weekend. Now is the perfect time to prepare.

Step 1: Check your pet's microchip and make sure your contact information is up to date.
Step 2: Register your pet with Petco Love Lost, a free nationwide service that helps reunite lost pets with their families if they ever become lost.
Step 3: If your pet is frightened by fireworks, contact your veterinarian now to discuss options that may help keep them calm and comfortable during the holiday.
Step 4: Create a safe space in your home where your pet can relax away from the noise. For cats, this might mean a quiet room with a cardboard box fort, favorite blankets, treats, and even some bird videos on the TV. Be sure to check in throughout the evening to help them feel safe and secure.

A little preparation now can make a big difference later and help keep your pets safe during the summer holidays.

It's the third CATurday of June, which means it's the third CATurday of Adopt a Cat Month! We still have many wonderful cats looking for homes, including Slynk, who has been waiting for her family for over TWO years.

Slynk will happily let you know that she's in charge, and we happen to think confidence is a great personality trait. She knows what she wants, enjoys attention on her terms, and is more than ready for a home of her own.

Need a little more convincing that now is the perfect time to adopt? Check out our blog and learn why June is the purrfect month to welcome a new feline friend into your family: https://www.towncats.org/june-is-adopt-a-cat-month/

Are you looking for a predictable cat? One who comes when you call, enjoys a good treat, and always wants to know what you’re doing... but still has just a tiny bit of chaos tucked away inside?

Oscar and Felix may be the pair for you!

These handsome tuxedo brothers came to Town Cats last fall after a kind community member rescued them and their two sisters. Their sisters have already found homes, but Oscar and Felix are still waiting for their turn.

The boys are playful, sweet, and affectionate. They love wand toys, never say no to treats, and aren’t shy about chatting when they think it’s time for attention.

While Oscar and Felix enjoy each other’s company and would make a wonderful pair, they are not bonded and can be adopted together or separately. Whether you’re looking for one feline friend or two, these boys are ready to bring some fun and love into your home.

Could Oscar or Felix be the missing piece of your family? Fill out an adoption application today!

Happy 3-yr gotcha-versary to our little Poe! We got a fabulous update this week from Poe and Soprano's (now Tony Soprano) adopter. They are still living their best lives together and being super cute while doing it! Look at them just snuggling on the couch!

On April 8, 2025, we got the keys to our new building. On June 14, 2025, we celebrated the grand opening of what we named the Gilroy Town House. And this week, the sign from our old Morgan Hill shelter was installed!

The past year has been filled with changes, new friends, and many new cat friends. We are so happy to be making our new home in Gilroy our own, and we love sharing these milestones with all of you.

Thank you to everyone who has been with Town Cats every step of the way. We couldn't have done it without your support!
