I’ve decided to name her Darling!

And while I considered keeping her, I’ve decided to offer her available to anyone who may be interested. I still have her sire and dam, and am keeping her Lunkarya brother. So it’s not like I “need” to keep her.

She will be listed on the website today. Obviously if she doesn’t find a home I will have no problem with her staying here!!!

Food for thought!

"$15 for a gallon of milk! That's too expensive!"

That is a comment we have heard more than once from people that don't understand the value of our product and the expense, time and sacrifice that goes into producing high quality, raw, A2A2, full cream Jersey milk. It is the comment we get most often from someone that is also holding a gourmet coffee in their hand.

So, I decided to do a little experiment and asked three of my friends for their usual order from Starbucks and the price before tip. These friends will generally drive thru for coffee 3-5 times each week.

Friend 1: "Venti Brown Sugar Oat Milk Latte with an extra shot." $8.27 for 20oz. drink

Friend 2: "Venti Iced Caramel Macchiato $6.87, $8.12 if I decide to add Cold foam. DO NOT tell my husband how much I drop on coffee each week!"
$6.87 for 24oz drink
$8.12 with Cold Foam

Friend 3: "Grande Americano with a splash of Heavy Cream"
$4.54 for 16oz drink

Now for the math part to equate gallon of gourmet coffee to a gallon of "gourmet" raw milk.

There are 128oz in a gallon. We divide the oz of each drink into 128oz to know how many times we have to multiply the cost of each coffee.

Friend 1: $52.93/ gal ($8.27x6.4)

Friend 2: $36.62/gal ($6.87 x 5.33)
or $43.28/gal with Cold Foam ($8.12 X 5.33)

Friend 3: $36.38/gal ($4.54 x 😎

It's all about perspective.

Many people have no problem spending $5-8 on a specialty coffee, that can equate to $36-$53 per gallon, but are horrified that the cost of farm fresh, locally produced raw milk is $15/gal.

To be clear, my parents own a gourmet coffee shop, I have NOTHING against gourmet coffee, in fact, sometimes I think I survive on carbs and caffeine!

If you think $15 for a gallon of milk is outrageous, I ask you to consider the gallon or pound cost of other gourmet items you purchase before telling the raw milk producer, the sourdough baker or local beef producer their products are too expensive. Just because we don't sell in a storefront, doesn't mean it is cheaply produced.

Happy Saturday!

I will be posting two litters of available Continental Giant rabbits to the website this week!

I will be evaluating the two litters to the best of my abilities. Most will be set into the category of “pet” and will not come with a pedigree. A few will hopefully meet standard to be brood, and will be available with pedigree.

Pet quality Contis are $250 each
Pedigreed Brood quality Contis are $400 each

Colors I have are Orange, Black, Black Otter. Most are VM/VC and some appear to be White Ear.

All are eating food, and hay, and ready to leave their mamas. Full payment is due to reserve your Conti, and they must be picked up within 7 days once payment is received, unless other arrangements are made prior. Boarding fees apply to any rabbit being held longer than the 7 days.
