One of the interesting things about becoming a non profit a year ago is that we are considered a young non profit and aren't eligible for a number of foundations and grants programs. Most want three years of tax reports and we only have one. So, that means we rely on the generosity of local businesses, community groups, individuals etc. When we started TLA volunteer work three years ago as just us, we were doing some visits here and there and funding it all from personal resources. Unfortunately, our personal resources are only able to cover some of what we would like to do. So, we opted to become a 501 C 3. Our IRS first anniversary date was June 7th this year. It's time for us to push forward with expanding our outreach and start pursuing our dreams of working with children on the spectrum, those with ADHD, those with Downs. To do this, we need support so we can host on site day camps with interactive experiences. It's a bit like setting up on outdoor classroom with activities for kids of all types.
