CHEW Dog Rescue is a charitable 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization operating in the Gig Harbor, Washington area. We rescue dogs that are abandoned and, in particular, dogs that are in danger of being euthanized due to shelter overcrowding. CHEW was organized in 2006 to advocate for the establishment of a 30–40 acre fenced off-leash dog park in the Gig Harbor area. We also promote responsible dog o

wnership by facilitating and promoting speaker presentations that include canine health and behavioral topics. We are now a group dedicated to rescuing abandoned dogs, and other dogs in need of help.

Please welcome these small dogs to CHEW. They were dumped and found running the streets. If I guessed, from a back yard breeder with no longer any use for them. Surprising they are all in EXCELLENT heath and young, with Pippi and Churro (only male) pups at 5 months old, Poppy at 10 months and Paloma at 2 yrs. These dogs have the best personalities with no bad habits and are small ranging from 4 lbs. to 10 lbs. They are good with small dogs, have met cats but unsure what they are, and all ride well in the car. The older girls walk on leashes well, all dogs are house trained. It takes a village to save a dog. CHEW teamed up with our Community partner Best Friend Forever K9 to provide food for the Spokane and surrounding areas for all the displaced dogs caught in the fires. CHEW is so Thankful for the support of our community and wanted to give back. The food was for adults, small breed and puppies, both can and kibble.

There's a home for every dog 🐾
Our little buddy, Archie finally found his perfect family. Archie is almost completely blind except for 20% in one eye. It was difficult to even tell that he was blind and he was able to get around perfectly. But, it does take just the right family to adopt a special needs dog. His new owners are musicians and he loves to sit and listen to them practice. Especially the one owner who plays the tuba!! He has a little fur Sister, Ginger and they get along really well. She's actually starting to Mother him a little bit. And the happy ending would not be complete with out the 2 fabulous foster families that took care of Archie. ❤️ We aren't successful unless we have dedicated foster families. We are all so happy that Archie went from the streets of Yakima to a happy home. 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️

Look who found her forever home, MARNIE! She was special little girl who needed extra time to learn to trust humans again. She has come so far in the last couple of months. MARNIE has new Mom who has the time and knowledge in dealing with a reserved dog. Regaining a dog's trust can be a slow and patient process requiring a dedicated human who is willing to put in the time. MARNIE has gotten a 2nd chance at a better life and will be living it to the fullest. You go girl, my sweet little MARNIE!
