We have 2 bulls that are up for discussion. We are experiencing a drought for the history books here in western Nebraska. Unfortunately, we just don’t have the pastures for these boys to cover cows for us this year! We would love to see them go to work for somebody else!

We have a 4 year old, Silver Tip 55K, but we call him “Manny” from Manitoba 😅 We purchased him from Graham Creek ranch out of Manitoba as a yearling. He is a big sweetheart but also knows how to cover cows well. (We can walk up and pet him, that’s how mellow he is!) He has an 88lb birthweight and has thrown us some really nice calves. We really like his crossbred progeny.

We also have a 2 year old home raised bull, Scotch, with a 71 lb birthweight. If you need to cover heifers or need that guaranteed calving ease type bull - this is your bull! He’s slender shouldered and his pedigree is packed with low birthweight blood lines. We’ve used him on heifers last year and had no issues!

Both bulls are registered with the American Speckle Park Association. They are both Homozygous Black, Homozygous Polled and are Myostatin Negative.

Located near Scottsbluff, NE. We are always willing to work with customers on delivery!

I am truly at a loss for words for what this week has meant to me. All I can say is my family and I are blessed beyond measure to have been apart of the Speckle Park family for the past 3 years.

We have our first half Speckle Park beef! 🥩

It was a pretty proud moment to stand in the cooler with 3 home grown carcasses! 18 month old steers were all top choice - Yield grade 3’s. Our butcher was pleased with the overall carcass size, yield and ribeye area without giving up meat quality or having excess wasteful fat. This is exactly what we have been aiming for!

Average live weight: 1500 lbs
Average hot carcass weight: 920 lbs
Carcass yield (figured off a 4% live shrink): 65%
REA: 15-17”

We are happy with the results and are excited to have some Speckle influence beef to share!
