We are a foster based rescue out of Illinois. We are a rescue in the Chicagoland area with foster homes in many suburbs.

We focus primarily on saving animals that are at risk of euthanasia or being surrendered to overcrowded shelters in rural areas of KY Our primary business locations are in Batavia and Plainfield, IL. We do not have a shelter for viewing animals. We are 100% foster home based and schedule meet and greets with approved applications only. We also hold adoption events so please keep an eye on our page for dates and times!

🐾🐾🐾 FOSTERS NEEDED SATURDAY 5/30🐾🐾🐾

One of our Starfish volunteers is in KY right now and met Blacky at the shelter. He is TERRIFIED of the shelter and shut down. He is so sweet, good with other dogs but he NEEDS to get OUT of the shelter NOW!

He is 1-2 years old and about 35 #.

Can YOU step up to foster him? He will do best in a quiet home where he can decompress.

Cutie patootie alert! Stella is an adorable 1-2 year-old, 14 lb., black and white, short-haired pup. She has beautiful doe eyes, freckles and cow spots. She enjoys playing with her foster dog siblings and toys for a little bit in the morning and by dinner Stella settles down quickly on the couch. She sleeps nicely during the day with her foster siblings while her foster mom works from her home office. Stella takes time (a couple days) to warm up to new people but after that time, she is a friendly, happy and snuggly dog. She has enjoyed learning about the joys of being a family pet. She is wonderful with other dogs and in fact, should be adopted into a home that has a confident dog. Stella trusts dogs first and having a companion resident pup will help her transition to her forever home. Stella is now fully potty trained! This sweet little girl will require a bit of a warm-up period, but your patience, consistency and kindness will be rewarded with a loyal companion, and you will get to see her continue to grow into a friendly and confident dog.

The BEAGLE pups were found about a month ago in rough shape and have been in foster in KY since then. They have had their first round of vaccines. They can be fostered individually.

Gizmo’s owner got him out of a bad situation. He is a bit shy at the beginning but warms up quickly. He is good with dogs and cats.

These puppies still need fosters! 3 puppies have a confirmed foster but there are 4 left in the litter. They must be fostered in pairs. The mom is a doodle but they are keeping her and she is scheduled to get spayed.

Toby is a male Chi/Terrier mix puppy with an estimated birth date of 1/01/26. He’s petite and delicately featured, with the most adorable permanent white socks on his paws.
Toby arrived at Starfish with his two sisters, and from day one, he was the big brother energy of the group — patient, generous, and quietly making sure everyone was okay. His sisters have since found their forever homes. And Toby? He just kept right on big-brothering. Every foster sibling that comes through the door gets the full Toby treatment: he'll share his toys, yield his favorite nap spot, and generally make whoever is next to him feel like the most important creature in the room.
But Toby isn't just sweet with animals — he is absolutely magnetic with people. Call his name and he will drop everything and come find you. Everything. He forms bonds fast and loves hard, and if closeness and affection are what you're looking for in a dog, Toby will absolutely meet you there.
He's doing great with potty training and will find his pee-pads on his own, if no one's around to let him out.
