This sweet family has been a guardian home for several of our pups. If anyone has any information that could help, it would be greatly appreciated! ❤️
Angela McKee is on a mission to find something I'm not sure I've ever heard someone looking to find... something incredibly meaningful to her and maybe not anyone else.
In her parents’ estate auction earlier this year, a jar of shark teeth she and her dad, Jim Upton, got sold by accident. They'd spent years collecting those teeth together.
This is a picture of she and her dad together.
"My parents passed away just four months apart," she says. "My dad died last November. Shortly after, my mom moved in with my family. In January we learned she had ovarian cancer. She passed away in March. My brother and I found ourselves responsible for their home. A buyer reached out quickly—which was a blessing. But it left us with a short amount of time to go through their belongings before turning everything over to an auction company."
In that frantic process, the precious jar of shark teeth was overlooked, unknowingly included in a batch of nautical items and purchased by someone from Grover.
"Every beach vacation, he and I spent time sifting through the sand together, searching for them. It was our thing. That jar holds years of memories—some of my sweetest with him," she says.
Can you help find the jar of teeth?
This is what we know:
- The auction was May 17, 2025.
- Auction address: 112 Rosebank Drive, Shelby, NC.
- That's Cleveland County.
- In case you know landmarks, the auction was near Moss Lake.
- The nautical items were purchased by a man.
- The man lives in Grover (also Cleveland County).
- Angela's sister-in-law saw the man drop the jar after buying it.
- When she later told Angela about "a man dropping a jar of teeth," Angela suddenly realized the shark teeth were gone.
- Angela reached out to the auction company; they can't help.
"I know this is a long shot, but you never know," Angela says. "If the right person sees the story, I might be able to buy the jar back. It would mean more to me than I can put into words."
If you have any information that you don't mind being public, share in comments below. Angela will be read every comment. If you want to send me a private message, EMAIL (not FB message) me at [email protected]. I'd be happy to forward your email and connect you to Angela privately.
When you're forever a daddy's girl, stories like this hit home.
