The girls (Auggie, Turtle and Smudge) helped feed horses today. Auggie is still learning how to
"play nice" with the youngins. She still scares them sometimes by being too rough. They will get the hang of it though. They are growing into great little ranch dogs!

Happy Saturday!
I wanted to take a moment to talk about our health guarantee. It came to my attention that Meta AI was giving people a "run down" of our guarantee that was inaccurate.
To start, we do genetic tests on dogs in our program. This is to ensure that puppies they produce will not get illnesses or diseases that could have been prevented. For example none of our puppies have the genetic predisposition for Degenerative Myelopathy which leaves them paralyzed in the rear needing a doggy wheelchair. They also are genetically clear of JHC (Juvenile Hereditary Cataracts). On top of genetics we also have our dogs cleared of luxating patella and heart issues. While we wish it did, genetics do not tell us everything, and sometimes health issues do crop up. This is why we offer a health guarantee.
Our lifetime health guarantee covers congenital issues that have a significant impact on your puppies life. Congenital means a disease or abnormality present from birth.
A few examples of congenital issues: A heart valve defect, brachycephalic obstructed airway syndrome, A liver shunt, deafness (not old age hearing loss).
If the issue is fixable through surgery , for example Brachycephalic Obstructed Airway syndrome , we pay the surgeon up to the amount you paid for your puppy to fix it. If the problem is not fixable, like liver shunt or heart valve defects, we refund you the amount you paid for your puppy.
This guarantee is only valid for problems that pose a significant impact to your puppies life.
The reason we only cover things congenital in nature is because environment plays a huge roll in health. We can do everything we can to protect our dogs and do the best for them, but sometimes it is out of our control. What you feed your dog, the vaccines you administer, flea control you apply, the cleaning products you use, the w**d killer your neighbors sprayed...it all plays a hand in our own, and our pets lives. While we hope it never happens, if your puppy develops allergies down the line, or cancer or old age cataracts, or at 8 develops a heart problem, these types of issue would not be covered under our congenital health guarantee.
We do also offer a limited 2 yr guarantee on patellas. While patella issues have also been linked to environmental factors, like allowing puppies to jump off couches, excess rough play etc, we feel it necessary to cover this. Two dogs with excellent patellas can still (rarely) produce a dog with bad patellas. If your puppy is diagnosed with a grade 3 or higher luxating patella and needs surgery, we will pay the surgeon up to the price you paid for your puppy to get it fixed.

Happy birthday, babies. It is astonishing how she was able to accommodate all of this. Fortunately, mom and the babies are doing wonderfully!

What a beautiful day today! Almost spring! The puppy yard has been vacant due to bad weather since mid autumn last year. Today it got mowed and our babies got to go outside onto fresh grass and sunbathe for the first time. Needless to say they loved it!

Oh my gosh I wish the camera could capture the cuteness of this. Pocket and Auggie are sleeping alongside (look closely at the bottom right) our two 5wk old bantam chicks. They are all fast asleep. I couldn’t ask for better dog children.

The puppies are not the only ones excited about dinner. We have two baby bantam chicks (d’uccle and Serama) that demand a bite too!

A lot of times when families come to get their babies they are surprised at how tiny they are. So today I put a Pepsi can next to them for size comparison. They are 5wks old!

Its only January but it’s still spring cleanup. We have a few weeks of no rain so we are taking the opportunity to burn a lot of pallets and old building material we had left over from our chicken coop build. Pocket and great granddaughter Auggie (12wks) are living up the ranch dog life.
