Hi, my name is Batgirl. I was dumped behind Petsmart 4 years ago in a cardboard box. I was traumatized but quickly became a happy cat. I was adopted from Petsmart after getting spayed, shots and tested. Sadly my owner was forced to move and had to return me after 4 years. I’m perky and lovable and easy to care for. Hoping this time it’s my forever home. 🦇😺

This is Molasses—“Mo” for short. He was a stray rescue in Pleasantville, NJ. He was neutered, tested, and fully vetted by Jane’s Animal Network.

However, on the same day as his surgery, he managed to push his way through a screen at the foster home where he was recovering. He was missing for three long, agonizing days. On the third day, he appeared at the kitchen door, crying his eyes out for food. He was smart enough to find his way back!

Since then, he has moved on to a wonderful forever home. He now has a new dad and mom who love him. He also has a new cat brother named Sass, who is slowly getting used to him.

Baby kittens are everywhere this time of year. These bottle babies are doing okay—but sadly, many don’t survive.

Before picking up kittens that may still be dependent on their mother, please evaluate the situation carefully. If the kittens are nestled together and not crying constantly, it’s best to leave them where they are. The mother is likely out looking for food and will return.

You can help by placing food and water nearby for the hungry mama. In the meantime, notify a local rescue so they can monitor the situation and step in when the kittens are old enough to be safely fostered.

Liddy was rescued from a shelter and spent eight wonderful years with a kind adopter. Unfortunately, when his adopter passed away, the family needed to find Liddy a new home. Thankfully, our friend Ruth—who has rescued many cats over the years—stepped in. As you can see, Liddy has adapted quickly and avoided the stress of returning to a shelter.

Please remember to make provisions for your beloved pets. When you’re no longer able to care for them, having a plan in place can help prevent trauma and anxiety for your loyal companions.

Liddy is now living with another rescue cat, Betsy, and is safe, content, and loved.
