Laramie had some time off while we worked with other horses, but this is only her second time back with a saddle on in 7 months & she’s bitless!

One of the best parts of working in rescue is seeing your animals personalities finally emerge after weeks and months of rehab.
So often they come in shut down & starving, the only energy they have is going towards keeping them alive.
Pharrell has transformed from shut down, skinny, abusively long feet, & terrified to a playful, curious, and MUCH healthier horse!
He had never seen the outside of a stall & didn’t know what grass was, but look at him go now 🤩

Thunderbolt ⚡️ went home this week!
Vegas (his mama) went home with him to be fostered for the next few months until he is fully weaned, but will be available for adoption once she comes back to VEA!
We are so grateful for Amanda taking Bolt and fostering Vegas!

Rescue. Rehab. Rehome.
Every part of the journey is hard, but every part of it is SO worth it, especially when you get to see them off to the most amazing home, with trails and someone that’s going to love them unconditionally and treat them so well.
Sean and Jen have loved Denali unconditionally and made her their little pasture princess, but when the time came for her to be adopted, they let her go because they knew it was the perfect fit!
How lucky we are to have such caring volunteers and such incredible adopters!

Before and after pictures help paint a clear picture during casework for judges, lawyers, and anyone in the courtroom that might not be a “horse person”, of just how egregious the abuse that’s taken place is.
We don’t just add weight and trim feet, we fix their teeth, treat skin conditions, fungal infections, underlying medical problems, & for the last two cases we’ve done it all on our own dime (with your help)!
Because the owners surrendered their horses at the time of seizure, they weren’t liable for any vet bills, farrier bills, dental bills, feed bills, or anything else that’s taken place.
But not once has it stopped us from treating these horses and getting them back in tip top shape 💪🏻

Malcom is a 16 year old TWH gelding and would do well with a consistent & soft partner. He would do well on trails, especially with another confident horse.
He will need boots when riding outside of the pasture or arena.
He has been trained bitless & is a soft natured & sensitive guy. He’s an easy keeper and would love for you to come and meet him!
