We had so much fun this week with horse camp round 2! So many crazy games (both mounted and unmounted) were played, lots of candy eaten, and even some pretty serious cardio exercise was thrown in there 🤣. What a great group of girls and also a phenomenal group of horses who put up with my shenanigans with so much patience and good nature. Also huge thank you to Tiesha and Gabby for lending me a much-needed hand this week!

We hosted our second home show of the year this past weekend! What a great day of fun, competition, learning, horsemanship, friends and family we had! More pictures are forthcoming but I wanted to post a teaser video made by our talented Director of Visual Media, Daemon! Aka Dad/Papi.

What a day we had with 7 girls, 6 horses, 2 trailers and a ton of fun at Pople Ridge Farm! Congrats to Cloe/Rosie and Audrey/Dottie on their champion and reserve champion wins! There were also many highlights throughout the day including Izzy and Lilly making a very successful 18" jumping debut aboard Dottie and Tilly, Abby and Monty winning a blue ribbon at Monty's very first show, Chloe and Poe putting in solid rides and showing an insane amount of improvement since our last PRF show, and Olivia and Justin continuing to mesh and figure each other out with valuable experience gained! Also huge shout-out to Olive for hanging out all day and demonstrating a super work ethic and team-centered attitude.

So last night was a typical weekday lesson night. Aka semi-controlled chaos. There were last minute horse swaps, horse behavior issues, an overtired baby who didn't want to stay in his pack and play, regular evening chores and 200 bales of hay to unload and stack. I was struggling to keep things running smoothly and professionally without letting the chaos bleed into my coaching.

And then something amazing happened...

People stepped up and helped. There were kids and adults helping tack and untack horses, entertaining the baby, handling turn in and feed with minimal direction, and to end the night on a high point - 8 kids and some very dedicated adults helping me unload and stack 200 of the 60ish pound square bales. It was a pretty amazing experience and I am so beyond thankful. Also I have to give a huge shout-out to the parents of these kids for raising them to be kind, hardworking and helpful. I appreciate all of you. ❤️

And of course in typical fashion I got zero pictures the whole night 🤦 so here's a picture of Monty and his adopted mommy.

Monte LOVED his first trail experience today! He was relaxed, quiet, willing and companionable. We covered water, ditches, tall grass, mud (Tillys nemesis), and even got some road exposure. What a great way to spend a few baby-napping hours.

Family, friends, food, fun, horse shows, horse racing, a full day and a full heart. I'm beyond blessed to be at the center of this community full of wonderful people who love horses and support this little farm.

We had a full day of horse showing (I apologize but I took exactly zero pictures the whole day so feel free to add your own) and finished the evening with a Kentucky Derby potluck party in our new indoor!

Offered for sale due to no fault of his own...

'Monty' is a 4 year old privately bred thoroughbred (b. Feb. 2022) standing 16h. He was lightly started this past winter and is ready for his person to put on the finishing touches.

I can't say enough good things about this horse. He has a great brain, is tremendously athletic and extremely easygoing. He would make a wonderful project for an amateur working with a trainer and has potential to go in any direction.

Currently going walk/trot, has done x rails and poles, ridden by a trainer and his advanced beginner owner. Goes in a snaffle, more whoa than go but is quickly picking up the basics of moving off the leg. He is an easy keeper, can live outside 24/7 with mares or geldings. Stands for the vet and farrier.
