You might be surprised to know we don’t usually have to use leashes or treats to get all of our pups back to their rooms. 🐾
Right now our kennel is fully booked with 11 dogs total, and this is what structure + well-balanced dogs looks like.
✨ No leashes
✨ No chasing
✨ No coaxing
✨ Just calmly calling their names… and they know exactly where to go.
Happy, confident pups who understand the routine and feel safe in it. That’s the Homeward Hound way. 🤍🐶

Oh my goodness… MAY creeped up so fast I totally forgot to post my monthly photo dump! 😅🌸
So here it is… a late May photo dump of all the sweet faces that have been hanging out at the retreat 🐾💛
The start of May has been BUSY and we’ve been full with some amazing guests soaking up the sunshine, enjoying their playtime, relaxing and living their best retreat life.
Honestly… I might start doing these bi-weekly 😍

Sometimes our play looks like this 🐾✨
At Homeward Hound Retreat, we believe “playtime” doesn’t always have to mean nonstop running, chaos, and noise. We strive to create an environment where dogs can find peace, freedom, and comfort, just being together, coexisting, and enjoying the day at their own pace.
Our style is a little different than most, and we like it that way. Here, dogs are given the choice to socialize, explore, or simply relax in their own space. No pressure, just a safe place to be themselves.
And honestly… we think the dogs love it too 🥰🐶💛

Summer is already getting busy, and we even have a few stays scheduled for the fall! This is your friendly reminder to plan ahead for peak times if you know you’ll need boarding!
We also wanted to share a quick reminder that our next scheduled break is in the fall, and we will be closed for boarding between October 1st through October 6th, 2026.

We are back in full swing! We made a large improvement! Please read below

🚗 Parking Update 🚗
Hi everyone! We’re excited to share that we recently had our driveway redone and added a new paved area in front of the kennel to help improve safety and accessibility.
Please note:
✅ All clients should continue to park to the left of the kennel in the designated parking area marked by the signs.
❌ The paved area in front of the kennel is not for regular parking.

➡️In the past, we’ve tried to deter parking directly in front of the kennel because the extra traffic in that area can work the dogs up, especially during busy drop-off and pick-up times. Keeping vehicles away from the kennel helps us keep everyone as calm as possible while also ensuring clients and pups are parked in the safest location.

🛑 The paved area must remain clear and available for inclement weather conditions ONLY. If weather conditions require it, we will reach out via text on a case-by-case basis to let you know if you are allowed to park on the pavement for easier access.

Hi everyone! Just a friendly reminder that Homeward Hound Retreat is officially CLOSED now through April 26th for our scheduled break.

🚨 Drop-Off & Pick-Up Reminder (Please Read!) 🚨
Hi everyone! We’ve been having some issues with early and late arrivals lately, I wanted to post a friendly reminder regarding drop-off and pick-up appointments.
Because Homeward Hound Retreat is a small, individually run business, I am not always available outside of scheduled appointment times. Drop-offs and pick-ups are scheduled and spaced out intentionally to allow me time to properly care for all dogs, clean, feed, and maintain a calm environment.
🕒 Please arrive ON TIME for your scheduled appointment.
This includes when a family member or friend is dropping off or picking up for you. If someone else will be coming in your place, it is your responsibility to make sure they know the correct time and follow the schedule.
⏰ Early or late arrivals without prior communication and approval can disrupt the entire day and affect other scheduled clients.
📌 Important:
If someone arrives more than 15 minutes early or late without notification or approval, there will be a $15 convenience fee per occurrence.
This fee is not meant to imply I’m unavailable or unwilling to work with you, I truly try to be flexible when I can. However, flexibility depends entirely on my schedule that day, and I must have communication ahead of time.
✅ If you need to adjust your time, please message me as soon as possible.
I’m happy to accommodate when I’m able, but I do need communication and approval in advance.
