Well- I am glad this was caught in Freehold Boro!! It was in someone's backyard.
There was another snake found under a car in a parking lot in Manalapan 5 days prior.
I am thinking someone may be dumping them.

I heard another horror story this week about someone leaving their dog in the care of someone they thought they knew.
Be very, very careful you entrust your pet to!

Do you need a Professional Dog Walker or a Professional Pet Sitter?
What is the difference?
A dog walker typically walks dogs, one time a day, usually in the afternoon for a client who is at work.
They can have a licensed business, but they just walk dogs during the day and they don't handle animals for clients who are on vacation.
A pet sitter does multiple visits within a day for either dogs or cats (and sometimes non-domesticated animals as well) for the duration of time the client is away on vacation.
For pet sitting, I personally require a minimum of two visits per day for cats and three visits per day for dogs.
You should not be doing any less than that as it is not adequate for the animal.
I can do up to 4 Visits per day and also overnight of the dates are available.

While it is true that pet sitters also walk dogs, the term dog walker is not appropriate to solely describe the needs of a pet while the owner is on vacation.

I also do dog walking for daily clients Monday through Friday while they're at work.
This is usually five days a week all year.
I also do walks on an occasional basis as well.
Pet Sitters usually "do it all". Whatever the client needs for pet care within the structure of our business.
So when you are searching for one and contacting a licensed, insured professional pet sitting business you will know what you need to ask for: a Dog Walker vs. Pet Sitter.

Someone found this cat, checked for microchip, no chip and his rehoming the cat herself, instead of handing over to the nonemergency police and Animal Control.

💫🐾Angel Walks✨by Pets Home Companion, LLC
Something I'm finally bringing to fruition is an idea I've had for quite some time which to provide help for senior pet owners who need temporary pet care but whom the going rate is not feasible.
This can take shape in many ways.
It may be an elderly person going into the hospital and not being able to afford my rate to take care of their pet until they come home. This fund would help subsidize it.
It may be an older person who can no longer handle their large dog on the walks.
This fund would help those dogs get the exercise they need.
There is a need for this type of pet care and I am hoping to fund this through donations so that I am able to provide care for pets and support for these owners.
I am a licensed, insured Professional Pet Sitting Business Owner and Operator since 2007.
My current fee is $25 per 30 minute visit.
I have been helping a specific dog whose owner is not able to handle him anymore.
I invested in the 2 Hounds Design No Pull Freedom Harness and Training Leash after trying a regular nylon leash and he is showing a lot of improvement.
I am happy with his progress so far and I am very proud of him! Every walk we have he picks up a little more and shows improvement each time. He is super excited on his walks and the look on his face tells me everything I need to know.
I would like to be able to give him some exercise at least 4 to 5 times a week but I would need help in the form of donations to allow me to do this.
The dog has been with this owner for many years and it isn't in his best interest to be given up.
I am just trying to enrich his life by giving him the exercise he so badly needs.
This has been a long time coming and I have a vision for it that I would like to see take shape.
I want this to become a MOVEMENT! 🌊
I am blessed to utilize my connection, compassion and skills with animals to improve their lives.
Pet care should be accessible especially for the older population who have kept their pets with them all these years showing them unconditional love.
I hope to be able to help as many people as I can with this ongoing fund.
Please help me build it. 🐾💫

Please follow my original advice.
I have helped many people recover their lost house cats.
Your cat is very close to home!
Please follow my (original) advice.
No litter box outside, no food outside.
It will attract other animals including other cats who will keep your cat away if trying to return home.

If you have a garage- set and MONITOR a humane cat trap on your garage at morning dusk and evening dusk especially. Use to food I lost below. Cover the trap with a towel.

Distribute Flyers- by knocking on doors to your neighbors and handing them out, and posted them on poles etc. as well even to any businesses close by?
This step is crucial to recovering your cat! Speak to people in person.
I cannot stress enough, the importance of knocking on doors speaking to people and handing them a “lost cat” flyer at the same time.
This is how you get sightings and this is what will bring your cat home.

GARAGE- If you have a garage set and monitor the humane trap in the garage leaving the garage open a little for the cat to find its way in. Please use the food I recommend and heat in microwave for 10 seconds before putting in the human trap.
Must be home and MONITOR the trap.

If you get a sighting you need to set and MONITOR a humane trap at the sighting location right away and at morning dusk.
*NEVER LEAVE A TRAP UNATTENDED.
You can use rotisserie chicken and Friskies Whitefish and Sardines canned food as bait.
Cats usually stay within a one mile radius from home.
Most are found very close to home as in a few houses away or next street over.
They are usually found (after getting sightings and with trapping) very close to their own home. Some come home on their own, usually in the overnight hours.

Concentrate on canvassing your own neighborhood, however, in case the sighting was not of your cat.
Cats don’t usually go far.
They usually will try to return home between 10 PM and 5 AM with peak hours being 3-5 AM.
Put a worn shirt of yours on your porch or near the door and continue to replace with a fresh one daily.
Do NOT put a litter box outside.
It will attract male unneutered cats who will spray property and chase your cat away if trying to return home.
Some cats stay hidden for 3 weeks traveling at night. Flyers generate sightings.

🐾Lost Dogs
Please follow my (original) advice.
Report to local police and animal control. Find out what shelter your town’s animal control contracts with to bring in strays.

Knock on neighbor’s doors within a 2 mile radius and speak to people, hand out lost dog flyers. This is how you get sightings. Please put on the flyer “Do not call out. Do not chase.”
Do not publish the locations of where the dog was seen because you’ll have a lot of people trying to go “Rescue” the dog which will force the dog further away.
You do need sightings though, people keeping an eye out and contacting you with sightings and locations where seen.

Please contact a legitimate lost pet trapping and recovery organization. Some are volunteer based.

You can put a worn shirt (underarm scent) on your porch and replace with a freshly worn one daily.
It’s a dog had a blanket that it slept on, you can put that out too.
You can try barbecuing meat to draw the dog back.
