It’s a sad day and my heart is broken to hear that our Gus Gus earned his wings today. 😭💔🐷🪽

He was one of the most gentle and sweetest pigs we’ve had the honor of caring for. He was always ready for cuddles and belly rubs, even although he had to compete for our attention with his brother Willie. One of the best things about this sweet boy, is he literally smelled of sweet maple syrup. We are going to miss him and that smell.

His cause of death is unknown, he just didn’t wake up this morning. He was showing no signs of illness, but that is not uncommon in pigs. As prey animals, they tend to hide their illnesses until it’s too late. Ms. Holly took him in for a necropsy and we hope to get an answer in a few weeks.

Wilbur is one of our most socialized pigs. As prey animals, pigs do not like having both hands on their bodies…they will instinctively run away and squeal.

However, with Wilbur since he was a piglet, we have been able to give him great big bear hugs!! I think he loves it just as much as we do…what do you think???

Please say a little prayer for our boy Wilbur. He’s been having issues gaining weight. Currently is eating 6 cups of food a day vs his normal 2 cups a day and hasn’t gained a pound. We ordered bloodwork from the vet, hopefully it’s nothing serious. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Wilber is looking great and pleased with his check up.
