Myth! While some dogs love the water, not all dogs are natural swimmers. Breed, body structure, and personality play a big role in whether a dog enjoys swimming. Breeds with short legs, flat faces, or heavy bodies may struggle in the water, while others may simply dislike it.

Even water-loving breeds need supervision and proper introductions to swimming. If your dog isn’t a fan of water, don’t force it—life jackets and positive reinforcement can help build confidence if they need to be near water.

So, while some dogs dive right in, others prefer to stay dry—and that’s okay!

Dehydration is serious—watch for signs and keep your pets and yourself hydrated.

Myth! Despite the classic image of a cat lapping up a bowl of milk, most cats are lactose intolerant and cannot properly digest cow’s milk. Drinking milk can lead to digestive upset, diarrhea, and stomach discomfort.

A cat’s primary source of moisture should come from their food, not milk. Cats have a low thirst drive and are designed to get hydration from moisture-rich foods like wet or raw diets. If you want to treat your cat, goat’s milk is a better option, but fresh-water should always be their main source of hydration.

So, while your cat might enjoy milk, it’s best to skip it for their tummies sake!

It all started with a Bulldog

Dog Krazy was established in August of 2006 when Nancy realized she wanted to spend every moment of her life with her Bulldog, Piglet. Piglet is the inspiration behind Dog Krazy and the love that Nancy has for her is the reason you can walk into any Dog Krazy location and know that everything you see, feel and touch is only the best for your beloved pets. Piglet passed away in 2016 but her memory will live on through Dog Krazy.
