Last Wednesday, we had to say goodbye to our beautiful, beloved Casey.

At 37½ years old, Casey lived a truly magnificent life. He was the matriarch of our senior herd and the heart of our farm. Through every season, he was the gentle soul who welcomed everyone with kind eyes, a quiet presence, and an endless capacity to love.

There are horses that come into our lives, and then there are horses who leave hoofprints on our hearts forever. Casey was one of those rare souls. He taught us patience, kindness, resilience, and the simple joy of just being together.

The barn feels a little quieter now, and there is an emptiness that can’t be filled. But we find comfort in knowing he lived a long, happy life surrounded by love every single day.

Run free, sweet Casey. Thank you for 37½ incredible years, for every memory, every lesson, and every ounce of love you gave us. You will always be a part of this farm, and you will forever be a part of our hearts.

Until we meet again. ❤️🐴

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July from all of us at Blue Ribbon Equine Care & Stables! 🐴❤️

Today we celebrate the freedom we enjoy, the sacrifices that made it possible, and the simple beauty of life on the farm. Watching these incredible horses graze beneath the summer sky is a reminder that some of life’s greatest blessings are the quiet moments.

As you celebrate with family and friends, we hope your day is filled with laughter, gratitude, and lasting memories. We also send our heartfelt thanks to all the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.

This winter was a tough one on the farm. Between the constant wet weather (all that snow and ice) and trying to keep everyone safe and dry, we had to keep the horses mostly in the pasture with the higher ground to avoid standing water and dangerous conditions. Unfortunately, with all the extra traffic and mud, the lower ground didn’t bounce back with as much grass as we had hoped this spring.

Farm life is never perfect, and sometimes Mother Nature has other plans, but the important thing is the horses are happy, healthy, and still have grass to graze and room to roam. We’ll keep working on restoring the pastures little by little, just like we always do. 💚🐴

Quinn said “if the horses get a water trough, so do I.” 😄☀️

On a HOT spring day like today, he decided the best way to cool off was a full-on soak right in the horses’ water tub—no hesitation, no regrets. Meanwhile, the horses just carried on with lunch like this was completely normal.

There’s just something special about Easter out here… the fresh air, everything starting to bloom, and the animals soaking up the sunshine. 🌸

It’s a beautiful reminder of new beginnings and the love God gives us every day. ✝️

We’re feeling extra grateful for this life, this farm, and all the little moments that make it so special.
