Happy Memorial Day Weekend! 🎆

Here are some tips from Dr. Peeler’s Aussie, Juni, on how to make sure your dog has a happy weekend too:

🌽 Keep dogs away from common holiday foods like corn cobs and ribs

🍗 Never leave pets unattended near grills, bonfires or sparklers. Hot coals and dropped food are some of the most common Memorial Day ER visit causes for dogs!

🔖 Make sure collars, tags and microchips are up-to-date before parties, camping trips or lake days

🧨 If fireworks are expected, create a calm space indoors before dark and ask your veterinarian about options like Sileo, for noise aversion and anxiety support. Starting early is more effective than waiting for fireworks to begin!

Happy National Rescue Dog Day 🐾🤍

Meet Obi!

Dr. Peeler and her husband Brady adopted Obi in 2019 when he was a year old.

He is from Mississippi where a Heartgard-resistant strain of heartworms reside. Once adopted, he began heartworm treatment which was difficult on a high energy boy that had to be crated and sedated to avoid an embolism.

He now requires yearly echocardiograms to monitor his heart and the damage the heartworms inflicted on his valves. His case is part of why Dr. Peeler is so passionate about keeping up on heartworm prevention year-round!

Obi is lovingly referred to as a warthog - he loves to lay down in the mud and makes grunting noises when he is happy.

He is a beloved member of the family 🤍 Swipe to see some cute Obi moments over the years!

A great low cost spay-neuter option run by our local shelter!

Our surgery schedule is looking a little too… available.
And while we love a good open calendar, we’d MUCH rather see those spots filled with pets getting spayed and neutered.

Let’s talk especially about outdoor cats for a second:
