Thank you all so much for your support and patience as we make this huge transition. I wanted to send out a few announcements and reminders. If you check your email and are in our SFAH database - you've already seen this message 😉.

We have been busy this week working on training and other updates, while the contractors repair damage to the outside of the building. We have appreciated everyone's patience during this time. We have been so happy to meet you and your wonderful pets and look forward to continuing to do so.

Some important announcements:

1. With overhaul of our IT system, we have lost some messages and reminders within our system. If you are waiting on results, prescription refills, or other communications, please reach out to us so that we are able to get you taken care of. We apologize in advance for any lapse in digital communications.

2. Vello, our online records, mass email, and texting platform, has also not been operating properly. We were unaware, but we have been unable to receive messages through that system (615-379-0063) until Friday. They are attempting to back-retrieve those messages but if you reached out to us that way we are so sorry we missed it. Please reach out and let us know via our cell or text/call 615-797-8222.

3. With payment processing system changeover, we no longer have the previous cards on file. They are working on getting us approved to begin storing those again safely. We are able to send an online payment link if you forget your payment forms at your appointment.

4. We are also working hard on online pharmacy approvals, and the communication between previous systems to our new system is not seamless. Please let us know if you have requested a prescription that has not been approved by texting our cell or 615-797-8222.

Reminders:

1. We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 7 AM to 5 PM.

2. Saturday open schedule is adjusting to closed every FIRST and THIRD Saturday. If any changes occur within this schedule we will inform you ahead of time. We are open next Saturday April 25th.

Saturday dates in May:

- Open: May 9th, 16th, and 30th.
- Closed: May 2nd, 23rd. Dr. Peeler has a family graduation on the 23rd so we will be closed.

2. We are still accepting messages on all previous emails and phone numbers, as well as our new numbers! Texting will NEVER go away, so please do not worry about that!

Finally, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Sammons and to all of you. While the technology and systems may be fighting us, your kindness and patience during this transition has been overwhelming. I am so honored and excited to be your veterinarian and to continue the care that Dr. Sammons so lovingly provided to each and every one of you.

In other news..

A get-to-know me fun fact: I was born and raised in Franklin, TN. I have lived off Coleman road since I was 8 years old. My grandfather started his business in 1985 at the end of Confederate drive, just 2 streets over.

I am open to any and all feedback during this time as we try to improve and serve you all in the best ways possible. I have provided a simple survey here if you would like to provide feedback anonymously.

To our Beloved South Franklin Animal Hospital Clients

We are writing with some exciting and heartfelt news about the future of South Franklin Animal Hospital. After 18 years of dedicated service to this community and the beloved pets who call it home, Dr. Cheryl Sammons will be transitioning ownership of the practice to Dr. Allison Peeler. South Franklin Animal Hospital will continue forward under the new name True Friend Veterinary Care — a name that reflects the same spirit of compassionate care you have always known here.

Dr. Peeler has operated True Friend Mobile Veterinarian for the last 4 years, and is excited to expand her services into a brick and mortar practice. She will still be operating her mobile services, on a limited basis.

Dr. Sammons would like to share a personal message with each of you:

Thank you for allowing me to care and love your furry family members . Some of you for 25 years. It has been an honor and a privilege to be part of each one of your lives, as well as you all becoming a huge part of my life.

Thank you for so many years of support, especially over the last 2 1/2 years raising my granddaughter Viola.

South Franklin Animal Hospital will change ownership over the next month with Dr. Allison Peeler taking the reins. As with all things in my life God has placed Dr. Peeler in my path.

She is kind, gentle, very knowledgeable doctor, with the same approach to veterinary medicine

She has extensive knowledge with fear, anxiety, and stress in our pets.

I can assure you that your pet is the priority, and will continue to be the focus of this practice

Expect a smooth transition as Dr. Peeler and I start going up cases and seeing appointments together so she gets familiar with your babies. My last day will be April 9th, and I could not be leaving your babies in better hands.

Expect no changes in a communication as Dr. Peeler will take over the Hospital cell phone

Expect an increase in office hours

— Dr. Cheryl Sammons

---------------

As you prepare for this transition, here is what you can expect:

- Regina and Castle are here to stay — the same familiar faces will continue caring for your pets, and some new loving facing will be added over the coming weeks.
- No changes to boarding services -- we welcome your pets to continue to spend their vacation time with us
- Seamless communication — our contact information is the same, though you may see additional numbers available in the future (all numbers will still lead to us!)
- Expanded office hours — we are excited to offer increased availability to better serve you and your family - official hours to be announced soon
- No changes to scheduled appointments and procedures
- Open and welcome communication — Dr. Peeler is excited to meet each and every one of you and your special furry family members.

We also want to give you the opportunity to connect with both Dr. Sammons and Dr. Peeler in person. We will be hosting Meet & Greet events where you are warmly invited to come say hello, ask questions, and say "see you later" to Dr. Sammons as she moves into this next chapter.

MEET AND GREET SCHEDULE:
Monday April 6 - 4-5 PM
Friday April 10 - 4-5 PM

We are deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in South Franklin Animal Hospital, and we look forward to welcoming you to True Friend Veterinary Care. Dr. Peeler is honored to continue the legacy Dr. Sammons has built and is committed to the same high standard of compassionate, personalized care your pets deserve.

With warmth and gratitude,

Dr. Cheryl Sammons & Dr. Allison Peeler

When your dog licks your skin, it's not just a random habit or a simple kiss. It's communication.
It's instinct. It's connection.
In a single moment, your dog is reading you in ways humans can't. Your scent, your mood, your stress, your day, all of it leaves tiny signals on your skin, and your dog's brain knows exactly how to interpret them. But beyond biology, there's something even more beautiful: loyalty and belonging.
Licking is rooted in ancient instincts of care and bonding. When your dog does it, it's saying, "You're part of my pack. You're safe with me." And when you're feeling down, they know. They stay close, they insist, they comfort, without words, without judgment.
Sometimes, love doesn't speak. It licks, sits beside you, and simply refuses to evedd
