Update: went to his foster to adopt home 🎉❤️
Meet Roran (aka the Tiny Raccoon)! 🦝🐾
If you've ever looked at a raccoon and thought, "I wish that came in a cuddly, 12-pound dog version," then you're in luck!
Roran is an estimated 10-year-old, 12-pound Australian Shepherd mix with the most delightfully unique look. From the hips up, he's rocking wild, fluffy bedhead that gives him endless character. From the hips down, his coat is much thinner, making him look like he borrowed the back half of a tiny woodland critter. To top it all off... he has no tail—just the cutest little nub! He's impossible not to smile at.
But Roran's personality is even sweeter than his appearance.
❤️ Kid Approved: He's been wonderful with children and enjoys being around them.
🐶 Dog Friendly: He's met every dog in his foster home and gets along great.
🐱 Cat Friendly: Cats? No problem! He's respectful and coexists nicely with feline friends.
🚗 Excellent Passenger: Whether it's a quick trip to the store or a longer adventure, Roran rides like a pro.
🏡 Easy Houseguest: On his first night, he slept quietly in his crate without any accidents. The second night, he graduated to the bed and snoozed peacefully all night long without getting up or having any accidents. He's proving to be a very polite little gentleman.
🍽️ A Little Bougie: Roran appears to appreciate the finer things in life. Plain kibble wasn't overly exciting, but add a spoonful of wet food on top and suddenly dinner is served! We suspect he may have been spoiled with table scraps in a previous home, so he'll happily remind you that breakfast smells delicious.
🧦 Toy Preference? While he hasn't discovered the joy of dog toys just yet, he did decide one of the kids' dirty socks was the greatest treasure he'd ever found. So if you're missing a sock... check Roran first.
💉 Roran is up-to-date on vaccines, current on prevention, and neutered. Unfortunately, when he was heartworm test at the shelter, he came back positive. Roran is going to be starting on treatment. So he is looking for a wonderful foster to adopt home that he can go to wall completing his treatment. His heartworm treatment will be covered by the rescue at one of our approved vets.
He'll likely benefit from a good spa day to clean up his coat, but underneath the dust is an incredibly sweet, easygoing boy who's adjusting beautifully to foster life.
Roran is looking for a family that will appreciate his quirky appearance, laugh at his little raccoon vibes, and give him the cozy retirement he deserves. If you're searching for a low-key companion who's kid-friendly, dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and happy to curl up beside you at the end of the day, Roran might just be your perfect match.
