Special Equestrians, Inc. is thankful for our covered arena! While observing how therapeutic riding and occupational therapy managed their sessions in the space together, a feeling of gratitude settled in, knowing we have a state-of-the-art space for learning, growing, sharing, connecting, meeting goals, and even finding those happy scratch spots! βœ¨πŸ΄πŸ’•

Special Equestrians, Inc. understands that some days you wake up with a to-do list and a great intention, but sometimes your facility takes front and center! Today was one of those days.

Thank you, Dr. Katie, at Van Roekel and Associates Inc, Rick Fox Plumbing Inc. Florida Power & Light, Summit Fire & Security, NY Hay Sales, Trinity Acres Equestrian Center, LLC. and the volunteers and staff who hung on to their hats. 🀠 I will say, some were planned visits, others were β€œplea” visits. πŸ˜…

Because of our strong relationships with our vendors, we averted disaster, continued with our daily operations, and, although tired, ended on a pretty good note! πŸ™ŒπŸ΄πŸ™πŸΌ

Days like this remind us that SE is, after all, a horse farm! Thanks to all for rolling through this day. 🐎

Special Equestrians, Inc. enjoyed hosting a photo shoot at the center with our friends and sponsors Uniquely You Southwest Florida as we finalized a piece for the August edition. We featured the 2026 SE Ambassador of the Year, who has set a ripple of impact through our community beginning with his speech at Taste of Love an Enchanted Evening this past March and again during an allocation visit with United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades. 🀝

We thank our community for always highlighting the amazing work we do, donating their talent and time to highlight our mission, sponsoring our events, and for donations that are more than gifts but miracles in the lives of our SE Community. ✨

We are also happy to announce that we had a record number of volunteers complete orientation and training in June! Uplifted by the number of young people getting involved with our organization, we feel proud to serve them as they serve our mission. We are grateful for our seasoned volunteers for welcoming them, orienting them, and working alongside them to improve everyone's experience. BEST TEAM EVER! 🧦 πŸ˜‰βœ¨

Special Equestrians, Inc. shares an update from dedicated volunteer and supporter of SE regarding the Chestertown Farms naming contest! πŸ’«
Lin shares, β€œThank you to all who participated in the contest to name these 2 beautiful foals. Hope all enjoyed this chance to name a possible future KY Derby or KY Oaks winner next May, 2027.πŸ€žπŸ™β€οΈ
We submitted 44 names between both foals at the closing time of noon this past Monday.
No names were listed as to who submitted each name so there could be no bias in the farm's final choice.
Although I know, they would only be choosing what they thought was the best name of each of their foals.
Hopefully the owner of Chestertown Farm, Mr. Broman, does not decide to sell one or both of them.
Should that happen, a new owner has the right to change the foal's name but that is considered bad luck in the horseracing world so hopefully that will not happen.
AND THE WINNERS ARE:
1) Colinizer/Mitole will now be named MITOFURY....A big thank you n Congratulations to one of our horse leaders, Paula Porter!!! MITOFURY is currently being trained by Linda Rice, a very prominent NY trainer. Google Linda n also google Equibase.com to begin your own virtual stable (entering trainer n horse's names) n keep up to date on MITOFURY's progress. He is currently training at Saratoga. May his every stride be a Safe Trip for him.πŸ™β˜˜οΈβ€οΈπŸ‡
2) Pauseforthecause/Flightline will now be named Delayed Flight.
This was one of the many names I submitted n was, needless to say, overwhelmed with happiness that they chose it. I was shocked indeed that my submission would end up the one they liked most for her.
She is not yet with a trainer so I cannot give you any additional info as regards her particulars but certainly will when she begins her racing career which should be soon.
Obviously, I wish her Good Luck but most especially always a Safe Trip.πŸ™β˜˜οΈβ€οΈπŸ‡
Chestertown Farm is beyond appreciative of everyone's successful efforts in naming this precious little filly n c**t.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
Sincerely,
Lin Hartnett n Wishy” πŸ’«

Special Equestrians, Inc. welcomed summer this weekend with Hoofbeats & Heatwaves, a Reading Rodeo event, Maddieβ€˜s Sweet Lemonade, and TR classes with our Saturday crew. Thank you to the community that enriched our horses' lives with a good book, good company, and their calm healing energy.πŸŽπŸ‹πŸ“š

Shelly's Book Garden presented a magical mobile craft, while Roots to Reins presented seasonal planting and seed harvesting using flowers from the You-Pick garden beds in our memorial garden. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, Suzanne Renwick, "recreated" Equine Health Solutions' flavor study with our herd water buffet! πŸ’§πŸ’§πŸ’§

Do you know what flavor horses love best? Well, every horse is unique, but according to a study conducted by Equine Health Solutions and the SE water buffet, more horses showed a preference for watermelon-flavored water! πŸ‰I can't believe we had the same outcome! ✨

We look forward to hosting future Reading Rodeo events beginning in the fall and hope for the day when the Wishing Well Sensory Garden opens its arbor entryway, creating the perfect space for gatherings like Reading Rodeo and more!

Please consider donating to the sensory garden campaign! We are just a few thousand away from securing enough funds for the pavers! https://entry.givesmart.com

A paver donation would do the trick too. We have enough funding for installation. THANK YOU πŸ™πŸΌ to all who have donated already!!!
