The Good Dog Rescue

Our purpose is to save dogs from high kill shelters, place them into loving foster homes, do all needed vetting and training, and find the perfect adopters.

We provide post-adoption support, and volunteer with petfood banks & low cost spay/neuter clinics Our Vision is to reduce companion animal homelessness through establishing a network within rescues and shelters; supporting the community to keep pets in their homes; reducing the number of unwanted animals with spay/neuter services; and strengthening the human-animal bond through education & outreach programs.

🌺 Meet Dora!! 🌺

Hi there, Dora here! Like me, are you looking for a long-term relationship? Let’s explore and see if we’re a good match!

I’m a happy young girl who gets along with dogs and people. Some of my interests are going for walks, playing with other dogs, self entertaining with toys and learning new things. I’m not reactive on walks and am starting to walk well on a loose leash. I love playing with toys and my foster mom says I’m very entertaining with some of my antics. I’m learning lots of commands, but they’re all new to me so I will need someone continuing to reinforce my good behavior. I have very good recall. I will stop at the corners and sit…look at me and touch are a couple of my other favorites. I’ve only had one accident, and that was when my mom didn’t understand what I meant when I went to the door. I sleep through the night in my kennel and I’m learning to go there on my own.

I love doing zoomies in the yard and would enjoy somewhere to stretch my legs and a playful companion in my life.

What better way to brighten up a gloomy day than with the smiles of our happy dogs and their new adopters!

Times are tough in the rescue world, but these pictures and stories are what keep us going every day! We are so incredibly thrilled for these new families, and cannot thank our fosters, volunteers, adopters, shelter and rescue partners, transport teams and donors for everything they do to make this happen!

🍡 Meet Mochi!! 🍡

Hey it's me Mochi. I'm also known as Mochi man because I'm the real MVP. I am calm, cool and collective most of the time. You can find me as your shadow, or simply snoozing in my free time. Toys are fun, but are short entertainment for me. I feel like I'm learning quickly with commands, and love a good treat for motivation. I sure do enjoy my daily walks, and am super confident while walking on my leash. Did you say you like to adventure? Count me in. I cannot wait to meet you soon. I'm looking for a home with another social playful dog, and a family that will take me lots of places!

Looking for a fun way to get out with your dog, practice your leash skills, and meet some fellow dog lovers? Come walk with us! 🐕🚶‍♂️

Our group walks are about more than just exercise. They’re an opportunity to:

🐾 Help your dog build confidence and learn to navigate the world around other dogs

And the best part? You’ll be joined by a professional dog trainer who can offer guidance, answer questions, and help you and your dog have the best possible experience in a group setting.

We are so grateful to be part of the Max and Neo rescue giving program! About once a quarter, we receive these amazing boxes full of the things we use the most - collars, leashes, toys and treats! If you havent used their collars and leashes before, they are really high quality and last forever! (my foster fail CJ has worn his everyday for 4 years!)
When you purchase items from them, they donate 1 to 1 to rescues - thats a pretty solid business model as far as we are concerned!

Because of that, I can get a little scared and worried when meeting new people for the first time.
