⚽ Meet George! ⚽

Hi I'm George! My siblings Fred, Ginny, and I arrived in Colorado at 8 weeks old after being born in the shelter in New Mexico. Even with this rough start to life, we immediately loved people and other dogs! I am more of a follower than my siblings and like to cuddle when I'm tuckered out for the day. I love to stay busy with toys, other dogs, and being outside. I'm starting some training with treats and learning new words like sit, outside, inside and food/hungry! Food time is my most excitable time of the day and right now I am eating 3 times a day to keep my weight up with my energy as I grow. I hope to be the tallest and maybe biggest of the 3 of us! I'm working on learning that nibbles are not kisses, I just get so excited! They say I'll be best suited in a house with a fence, probably with someone who has shepherd breed experience, and older or no kids. I plan on being very smart and need to be entertained with training and enrichment.

If you're interested in meeting George, please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email [email protected] with your interest in him!)

His adoption fee is $400 and he is neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations.

We’re way overdue on a Ginny update, so here it is!

Overall she is doing really well. Her intestines have healed from the intussusception surgery and are finally processing food properly. She has gone from 5 pounds to 11 in 4 weeks (her brothers are 22 and 21 for comparison). She’s graduated from 6-8 tiny feedings a day to 4 bigger ones

She did have a bit of a backslide though. Last weekend she developed an infection in the growth plate off her femur. The vet thinks it could be related to the first surgery. Her leg swelled up to twice its size (and check out that lymphnode!),she wasn’t putting any weight on it and had quite a fever. After 5 days on antibiotics and pain meds the swelling is down and she’s putting almost all her weight on it, so seeing improvements fortunately!

Ginny is a tough cookie! She’s kept a good attitude (if not a bit sassy!) through it all and really doesn’t complain unless it’s meal time! She enjoys her outside time preferably with doggie friends, and allows us to do her daily physical therapy and heat/ice regimes. She’s a little cuddle monster when she’s tired and is just such a fun little girl

She probably still has another month or so until she would be cleared for adoption, but if you are looking for an adorable little diva in your life, to spoil with Colorado grass fed beef and daily hammock or porch swing time, we will start reviewing applications 💕

Meet four very good dogs who are still waiting for their forever families! 🐾

First up are Fred and George — two adorable shepherd-mix brothers with BIG personalities and even bigger potential!

These boys are smart, playful, active, and love people and other dogs. They’re looking for families who are ready to give them plenty of training, enrichment, adventure, and, of course, lots of love as they grow.

Then we have Rozzy and Darby — two sweet terrier-mix sisters who are playful, curious, and ready to experience everything the world has to offer.

Darby is the outgoing, fun-loving adventurer who loves toys, snuggles, and being part of whatever her people are doing.

And Rozzy is a little more reserved, but once she gets comfortable, she’s a sweet and affectionate girl who loves walks, exploring, and snuggling.

All four of these dogs are looking for their forever families. ❤️

Could one of them be your new best friend?

Visit www.thegooddogrescue.org to learn more about Fred, George, Rozzy, Darby, and all of our adoptable dogs — and fill out an adoption application!

Hi, I’m Cody! I recently arrived in Boulder, Colorado from Roswell, New Mexico and am looking for a furever family who can help me explore everything Colorado has to offer and give me the stability I need and deserve! I am shy with new people at first but open up fairly quickly. Once I trust you, I will greet you when you get home with the cutest little woo woos, hops, and tail wags. Having a doggie foster sibling has helped me to get comfortable faster and she also teaches me how to dog—I really like having her around. My foster mom says I am the perfect dog. I love to go explore the outdoors—I recently learned what hiking and trails are!—but once we’re back home, I’m super mellow. I like to chill and just observe what’s going on. I will patiently hang out on my dog bed while you work, and then I will be happy when it’s time for post-work walkies! I also love hanging out in the yard and just taking in all the new smells and sounds here.

🐾 Other things about Cody 🐾

- ~3.5 years old

- We think Alaskan husky mix with some German shepherd in there

- His response to stress is to not eat. He will need some patience and space at first to help him get comfortable in a new home.

- He is super smart. So, although he’s not food motivated, he learns your routine and how you would like him to behave in the house very quickly. We have started teaching him some basic commands, but he would love a family willing to continue training with him. He also had good off-leash recall with his NM foster but expect that might take time until he knows you’re his person.

- He’s naturally curious, so might wander out of your yard if he has the opportunity. He learns where home is quickly and will come back. But if you don’t live somewhere where this is ok, please have a secure yard where gates can’t accidentally get left open and spend some time supervising his yard time at first to teach him the boundaries.

- Has been crate trained, so would be ok using one in an emergency, but prefers to be a house dog when you are gone. He does great – he just lays on his dog bed or the couch and calmly waits for you to come home.

- He got passed around to multiple fosters in NM, with some long stints in a boarding facility in between, before he was able to make the trip up to Colorado. He needs and deserves a family who will consistently be there for him, and we are sure he will be a loyal companion in return!

- Dog friendly – he’s lived with various medium/large dogs and is polite greeting small dogs on walks

- Cats unknown. He could probably be trained to respect a kitty roommate, but he does have some small animal prey drive (bunnies are very interesting!).

- He hasn’t been around kids, but we think older kids who respect his boundaries should be fine.

If you're interested in meeting Cody please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email [email protected] with your interest in him!)

His adoption fee is $300 and he is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives

Meet Norman!

Here is more info:
*General: ~1.5 years old, labradoodle, very friendly, loves other dogs and plays well, fully house/potty trained, knows a lot of commands, smart and learns quickly, loves getting pets as a reward
*Moderate-to-high exercise needs. His current foster runs or hikes with him most days. They typically do ~3 miles, sometimes up to 6 miles. But some days, she only has time for a 30 min walk in the mornings and he does ok with that. Usually gets a shorter evening walk too. The running can be off-leash. (Kinda the perfect dog for hiking and running trails around Boulder and Golden)
* He is a retriever mixed with some standard poodle. The poodle genes mean he’s a working breed-type dog and thrives on mental engagement with people. He wants to be part of whatever you are doing during the day. He does put himself to sleep at night in his crate and sleeps soundly all night, but wants to be awake and doing things during the day. If you aren’t engaging with him, he gets bored easily.
*He is also very smart and learns commands quickly, but is essentially still a teenager so will need some patience. He still needs reminders but she says as soon as you remind him, his brain goes “oh yea” and he makes the right choice.
*He has some congenital bowing in his front legs, which has been checked out by a vet and nothing is needed right now. He has shown zero sign of it bothering him despite all the running (doesn’t slow down, no sign of soreness the next day, etc.)
*They say he’s also good with kids aged 6+ years, so he could turn out to be a great family dog and enjoy a house with lots going on.
*He hasn't lived with cats, but ignores them outside and she thinks he could be trained to live well with them, so long as you're committed to attentively redirecting and reminding him as he learns.
*Other things: He has successfully stayed in a hotel with them, and loves going to the groomer and to boarding when they are out of town. Enjoys getting to see new people and play with new dogs. Barks and is a little nervous initially when someone new comes into the house, but then welcomes them.

💜 Meet Thelma and Louise 💗

Thema (purple) and Louise (pink) are starting their searches for their (separate) forever homes! They are about 14 weeks old and we believe retriever mixes.

They have super sweet demeanors and cover you in sloppy kisses and cuddles.
If she arent chasing after eachother, they are occupying their time with lots of toys. They are super motivated with food, and learning the basics of being good dogs! They would do great in homes with another dog and lots of activity with walks and adventures.

If you're interested in meeting one or the other please visit our website and fill out an application! www.thegooddogrescue.org

🌿 Meet Inky!! 🌿

Look at these brilliant curls! Inky is an incredibly sweet and gentle boy. Kennel trained to a fault - he always thinks he has to go in there. He gives sweet kisses and always has a big ol smile. His nose is always working outside, and a secure yard is a must. Loud noises scare him so I am assuming thunderstorms and fireworks might be a little tough for this guy. Gets along with both small and big dogs, male or female. Likely would love hiking or just going anywhere with his people. He doesn't get on furniture (yet), and seems to have wonderful manners. When he comes inside he will find a dog bed or cool spot to lay down. Mild toy interest. He is probably fine being solo or having a dog friend. Inky for sure is going to bring character and smiles. Skip the puppy stage and get right to the fun with this young guy.

If you're interested in meeting Inky please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email [email protected] with your interest in him!)

His adoption fee is $300 and he is neutered, microchipped, hw negative, and up to date on vaccinations
