🎃🐾 Trick or Treat… Don’t Forget to Brush Those Feet! 👻🐶

Your pup may look BOO-tiful in their Halloween costume, but don’t let those cute outfits turn into a matted mess! 🧡

Costumes can cause friction against your dog’s coat, creating tangles and mats, especially around the neck, chest, armpits, and legs!

✨ After the Halloween fun:
🎃 Remove their costume.
🐾 Give their coat a good brushing AND combing.
👻 Pay extra attention to areas where the costume was snug.

A few extra minutes of brushing can help prevent painful matting and keep your pup looking fabulous! 💕

💕HUMANITY OVER VANITY — ALWAYS. 💕

At Forney Pet Spa, we love a beautiful haircut just as much as anyone, but your pet’s comfort will always come first. ❤️

When a coat becomes severely matted, brushing it out can pull on the skin and be painful. Sometimes the kindest option is to go shorter, start fresh, and work toward that fluffy style again with regular grooming and brushing at home. ✂️🐶

We will never put a pet through unnecessary pain just to save a haircut.

No judgment. No shaming. Just doing what is safest and most comfortable for the baby on our table. 💗

We work closely with this rescue and all of the volunteers are so nice and they are hosting a raffle!

💔🐾 WE ARE STRUGGLING, AND WE NEED YOUR HELP. 🐾💔

This is one of the hardest posts for us to make, but we owe it to our supporters and the animals who depend on us to be transparent.

Donations are at an all-time low, and Hearts and Howls Rescue is struggling to stay afloat. 😔

We have tried EVERYTHING we can think of to raise funds. We have hosted fundraisers, organized raffles, shared donation pleas, and stretched every dollar as far as it can possibly go.

But the truth is… it’s just not enough.

Veterinary costs continue to rise. The cost of food, medications, preventatives, and basic supplies keeps climbing. We are still carrying veterinary debt from serious medical cases we took on because we couldn’t turn our backs on animals who desperately needed help.

We saved those lives, and we would do it all over again. ❤️

But financially, those cases have left us depleted.

💔 Every single day, someone reaches out asking us to save an animal.

A stray dog wandering the streets.
A litter of kittens with nowhere to go.
An injured animal needing immediate medical attention.
A family desperately trying to find help for a pet.

And every single day, it breaks our hearts knowing we cannot say YES.

OUR INTAKE IS CURRENTLY PAUSED.

And the reality we are facing is terrifying.

🚨 If we cannot raise enough money to get back on our feet, we may have to close intake permanently. 🚨

We don’t want that. Our community needs rescue organizations. These animals need someone willing to fight for them. But we cannot continue taking on financial obligations without the funds to support them.

🐾GROOMING IS PART OF YOUR PET’S WELLNESS TOO! 🐾

October is National Pet Wellness Month, and keeping your pup healthy isn’t just about vet visits—regular grooming plays a part too! 🛁✂️

Grooming gives us a chance to keep an eye on things you may not notice at home, like skin changes, lumps or bumps, ear issues, overgrown nails, matting and changes in their coat.

We see many of our babies every few weeks, and sometimes we’re the first ones to notice when something just doesn’t look quite right. ❤️

Regular grooming = a cleaner, more comfortable pup and another set of eyes looking out for them. 🐶✨

Our bath services are perfect for short-haired pups and those who just need a good scrub, blow dry, brush out and nail trim to keep them looking and feeling their best! ✨

And for those heavy shedders… you know the ones. 😂 The ones who leave enough hair around the house to make another dog! Ask us about adding extra deshedding to help get that loose coat OUT at the salon instead of all over your couch. 🙌🐶
