Our practice was co-founded by Doctors Goodwin and Wingo and we first opened our doors in 2006. We were proud to move to our newly constructed, state of the art, facility in August of 2010. In February 2014, Dr. Catherine Clinton joined our practice. It is our commitment to provide "five star" veterinary care and superior client service throughout the life of your pet. Our services and facilities

are designed to assist in routine preventive and wellness care for healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime. For those times when your pet can not be with you, we offer boarding services in a safe, clean and caring environment where your pet is carefully monitored and treated like "family". We understand the special role your pet plays in your family and are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet's health care. We treat your pets as we would treat our very own. Our goal is to practice the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion and an emphasis on client service. Our entire healthcare team is committed to providing personal attention to the unique concerns of each individual pet and owner.

I wanted to share a personal update with all of you — I’ll be relocating to San Antonio, Texas in the coming weeks to be closer to family. This decision wasn’t easy, as I’ve truly cherished the relationships I’ve built with my clients, their pets, and this amazing community. ❤️
Thank you for the trust and support you’ve shown me over the years. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have cared for your furry loved ones — it’s been an honor.
While this chapter is closing, I’m excited for what’s ahead and hopeful our paths may cross again in the future. If you ever find yourself in San Antonio, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Please help us give a warm welcome to our newest Doctor to the AMC-F family Dr. Koontz. His first day will be Monday, we are so happy that you are becoming a part of our team!

Dr. Koontz graduated from Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences in 2012 and went on to complete an equine internship in Florida. He then spent the next decade immersed in shelter medicine, where he discovered his passion and talent for surgical care. In 2021, he and his wife Susie made the move from the city to Fate, embracing a slower pace of life with their two rescue dogs. Outside of work, Dr. K enjoys hitting the golf course and rooting for his favorite sports teams. Dr. Koontz looks forward to building lasting relationships with his patients and their families at Animal Medical Center of Forney.

Facebook friends heed our warning!! It is starting to heat up in Texas.. this means heat related emergencies for pets. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep a close eye on your pets in the upcoming weeks. Pets can get heat stroke faster than what we realize. We have seen our first pet with a heat stroke.. the heat and HUMIDITY is dangerous for pets. ESPECIALLY the brachycephalic breeds (Frenchies, English Bulldogs, Pugs) just to name a few are VERY SENSITIVE to the heat. Please be safe and keep your pets indoors or monitor them VERY closely this summer!
