Training & Education Tuesday | Preparing for an Evaluation 🐴📋

Thinking about participating in a GVHS Evaluation this year?

Evaluations are a valuable opportunity to receive feedback on how your horse aligns with the breed standard and to help preserve the qualities that make the Gypsy Vanner unique.

Before attending an evaluation:
• Make sure your horse is registered with GVHS
• Practice setting up and presenting your horse
• Ensure your horse is comfortable being handled and examined
• Review the evaluation process and requirements on the GVHS website

Evaluations are designed to be educational and informative while helping preserve the future of the breed.

Member Monday | Youth & Their Gypsy Vanners 💙🐴

One of the greatest parts of the Gypsy Vanner community is watching our youth members grow alongside their horses.

Whether they are competing in the show ring, learning new skills at home, enjoying trail rides, or simply spending time at the barn, our youth are the future of the breed.

The Gypsy Vanner Horse Society (GVHS) is accepting resumes for the position of Executive Director (ED).

The Executive Director serves as a key leadership position within the Society, working closely with the Board of Directors, committees, staff, members, and affiliates to support the mission, growth, and long-term success of GVHS.

We are seeking an organized, professional, team-oriented individual with strong leadership, communication, administrative, and technology skills.

Responsibilities may include:
• Providing leadership and support for the Society's daily operations
• Working closely with the Board of Directors to implement strategic goals and initiatives
• Member communication and support
• Email and phone correspondence
• Oversight of registrations, transfers, and membership services
• Website, social media, and communication coordinator
• Committee support and project management
• Administrative record maintenance and organizational compliance
• Annual Convention planning and coordination
• Supporting international affiliates, educational programs, and member outreach
• Assisting with sponsorship, fundraising, and partnership opportunities

The ideal candidate must possess:
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Strong grammar, spelling, and professionalism
• Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, committees, staff, and members
• Strong computer and technology skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, databases, spreadsheets, email management, and online communication platforms
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities
• Nonprofit, registry, equine, association management, or administrative experience preferred
• Experience working with volunteer boards is a plus

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.

MEMBER EMAIL COMMUNICATION:

If emails from **GVHS** are going to your **Junk** or **Spam** folder, we strongly recommend adding **[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])** to your email contacts or address book. This will help ensure that important Society communications are delivered directly to your inbox.

GVHS wants all members to receive updates, participate in surveys, and have the opportunity to vote on elections, bylaw amendments, and other important Society matters.

If you are not currently receiving GVHS emails and would like to be included, please contact us at [email protected], only members in good standing will be sent emails on surveys, voting, etc.

We also encourage all members to verify that their email address is correct by checking their information on the membership directory on the GVHS website.

Families with multiple memberships: To ensure each member can receive communications, participate in surveys, and vote when eligible, each membership must have its own unique email address on file. The system does not now to send out two to a single email address.
