We are deeply saddened to report on the passing of Larry Williams on Tuesday, June 9th. One-week earlier, Larry suffered a large stroke which he did not recover from.
Larry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeanie, his daughter Kim and son, Michael, plus grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The MIRA racing family will miss Larry immensely. He was instrumental in making MIRA the success that it is. Larry served as the race director for many years and helped to develop our racing format. He continued supporting the MIRA race director in a referee and consulting capacity and held the honor of being a MIRA lifetime member.
The Williams family discovered their love of snowmobile racing back in the 70’s and have accomplished great success through the decades, winning many races and championships. Larry partnered with Bob Benner, and they were the dominate Ski-Doo team of the era. Karl Schwartz was also a partner to Larry for many years with Ski-Doo and later with Polaris racing both sprint and enduro events. He was the leader of the family race team consisting of his son, grandson and great grandchildren. An amazing legacy
Saying goodbye to such a great racer, supporter, family man and friend hurts the heart. Larry will be remembered and loved through his family, friends and fellow racers. His great grandchildren are just beginning their racing careers in honor of his memory.
God Speed Larry 💕🏁💕
