Do you take trips up north? If you do! You can help the sanctuary birds!
We need white birch tree branches. We use them to hang in birds rooms from ceiling etc. All lengths and sizes! Make sure theyre not rotted! We grabbed ours from up north on state land. We DID not cut any down. Can you help?

Surrendered to us on 7/21

Went to our vets for Albert and this little guy was scheduled to be put down due to respiratory disease. He needs asthma treatment at least two times a week. We spoke with the owner and she was thrilled that we would give him a chance. He did loose his mate a little while ago. We are keeping a close eye on him, making sure he has enrichment, etc. If he seems to really miss his mate, we will find another finch.

Tibby is here for boarding while her Mom is on vacay. Maddie volunteers for us! This is a perk for having volunteers, we get to meet new feathered friends and love them too

Rescue:
When it rains, it pours. One moment you are feeling like you are on top of everything, then the next it all falls apart. The past few weeks have been rough. Losing Cassidy and Snowy. Buzz fighting for his life. (He has been doing really well). We had a good week last week, then everything came crashing down again.

Albert (pic on right. He is cockatiel on food bowl) flew to one of the Quakers bed and was bitten on the toe. He was doing really well, then yesterday morning it was swollen, infected, narcotic. Took him to vets, we had to amputate his toe. Today he has been doing good. Were keeping a close watch. His companion, Foxy is in incubator with him for a couple days.
Got home with Albert, checked on parakeets. Noa, our female, was not doing good. Took her up to vets, we removed an egg. Gave her fluids, pain meds, brought her home. She was struggling. We said our final good byes shortly after.

No matter how closely you monitor, there are times their little bodies can not sustain the damage. Noa was a sweet girl who fit in with the flock immediately. She loved her fresh food and taking her baths in her fountain. She gave the best kisses and little chirp to say good morning. Mom will take good care of Max, Noa. I love you.

Over the 4th of july, we got a huge donation delivered to us. I dropped the ball on sharing with everything going on.
Karen Mullins went above and beyond. She contacted the company and explained the Sanctuary to them. They told her what purifier would be best and also provided a discount! Not only that, they explained we can contact them anytime for assistance and maintenance help!

Thank you Karen for all you support! We can tell a huge difference in the cockatiels room already! Their little lungs are appreciating the clean air!!

Baby is doing awesome! She has begun showing her silly side and has been a bit sassy today.
