We are so sad to hear about the loss of an AWR alumni. Anna was a senior who was adopted a few months ago. Unfortunately, we think her heart just gave out. Her family loved her dearly in her final months and we are so grateful for that. RIP, sweet Anna.

Meet Eddy!

The phrase “unrefined gentleman” fits Eddy perfectly. Found as a stray in Texas, this handsome guy is now off the streets thanks to the amazing folks at WRT and now AWR, and he’s ready to start his next big chapter!

Eddy is about two years old and has a super kind heart and a gentle, friendly disposition. He gets along great with all dogs and brings big, joyful energy wherever he goes. He’s smart, eager, and very trainable—he just didn’t have much structure early on. With a little time, patience, and consistency, Eddy is going to blossom into an incredible family dog and a true lifelong best friend.

Eddy would be perfectly happy as an only dog, but he’d likely thrive with a playful canine buddy to romp around and burn off energy with. He’s a big, lovable goofball who doesn’t always know his own size, so he may accidentally knock someone over—something to keep in mind for families with small children. And yes, he comes with a natural tail that happily wags along for all the fun.

He’s crate trained, housebroken, uses a dog door, current on all vaccinations, and scheduled to be neutered next week—a pretty solid resume!

If you’re looking for a happy, high-energy companion and are willing to help an unrefined gentleman polish up his manners, Eddy might just be your perfect match. Head on over to https://arkansasweimrescue.org/forms and fill out your application.

‼️Veronica Cannot Keep Waiting‼️ 295 Days in Boarding! 💔
Sometimes we do not know why certain dogs get overlooked. We are posting Veronica every Friday until she finds a happy home!

Veronica has been in boarding for 295 days....almost an entire year. She has watched dogs come and go and keeps waiting patiently for her turn.🥺

She did not arrive at Animal Aid of Tulsa with any luck on her side. She was dumped at Jenks Animal Control in horrifying condition, suffering from one of the worst cases of mastitis the vet had ever seen. It had ruptured and abscessed, leaving a hole in her mammary gland. There was no guarantee she would survive. It was expensive. It was frightening. The outcome was completely uncertain.

But Veronica fought and she healed!
She spent a month in the hospital. She wagged her tail through painful bandage changes and somehow, through everything, she remained sweet, goofy, and full of love.🐶🥰

She had a foster lined up but that home fell through. And ever since March, we have tried and tried to find her another chance at a couch, a soft bed, a person, someone. Anyone? But no luck.

We do not understand why she is still waiting😩
Veronica is:
• Friendly with every person she meets
• Wonderful with children, though she can be rambunctious so slightly older kids are ideal
• Excited to play with other dogs and eager to belong
• A little shy in the very beginning but she warms quickly and becomes devoted and silly and affectionate

Boarding is wearing her down. She is doing her best to remain hopeful. But dogs are not built for this kind of limbo. She needs a home or at least a foster to remind her that she matters and that her story is worth finishing. 🏡

We are asking with urgency and honesty.
Is there someone who can take her in?
Even temporarily?
A foster home costs you nothing but space and compassion.

Animal Aid of Tulsa provides all supplies and veterinary care. What she needs from a human is simply a place to rest and someone to care that she exists.
If you have ever thought, “I wish I could help,”
this is the moment when it truly changes a life.
Please reach out to Animal Aid of Tulsa today. Veronica has endured the hardest chapter of her life already.

ADOPTION PENDING! Harry is a young neutered male looking for his forever home. Harry’s foster mom says, he’s perfect. Whether hanging out at home with the other dogs, going for car rides or Sunday morning coffee at a local shop, Harry can do it all. He is fully vetted, microchipped, housebroken and crate trained. Harry enjoys the company of other dogs, but could be an only dog. He was found as a stray in Boone County and taken to the Humane Society. His owners could not be located. Lexi is settling in nicely at her foster home. If you are looking for an attentive companion, Lexi is your girl. She is an older girl 8-9 years old. Fully vetted, housebroken, crate trained and good with other dogs. She was surrendered to a Texas shelter because her owner was moving. She would do fine as an only dog and loves her peoples attention. Lexi would benefit from a daily walk as she needs to loose a few pounds.
