We have the results of Maple May’s DNA test!!!! This girl is ready to start her new life. Maple has completed 2 weeks of board and train. She walks on a leash, sits and comes when called. Maple is current on all shots, spayed, housebroken and crated trained. When Maple came to us she was very slow to warm up to new people. She now loves her trainer and all the staff. She also has been acclimated in the play groups with the dogs and is doing great. Maple is still a little slow to warm up, but once she’s around someone for a little while they are her best friend! Please consider being a foster or forever home for Maple!

Please give this beautiful girl a chance. Maple needs a foster or adopter!

🐾 Meet Maple May — Your Fully Trained Companion! 🐾

Are you looking for a walking or running buddy who’s ready to join you on life’s adventures? Maple May is your girl! ❤️

We’re not quite sure what breed mix Maple is, but her DNA test results should be arriving soon!

Maple has spent the last two weeks at board-and-train, and she has absolutely excelled! She’s learning so much and is well on her way to becoming the perfect companion.

Sadly, Maple’s first years haven’t been easy. Her first owner adopted her from a shelter as a puppy, but we were told she spent most of her time confined to a crate, with no yard and very little socialization. Thankfully, someone else stepped in to get her out of that situation, even though they weren’t able to keep her themselves.

When we first met Maple, we had questions about how she would do around other dogs and adjust to new people. But oh, how far she has come! 🥹💕 Over the last few weeks, Maple has truly blossomed. She may need a little time to warm up to someone new, but with patience and love, she can bond with her person within 24 hours.

Maple is fully vetted, housebroken, crate trained, and thriving with her training! She deserves a home where she can continue to learn, explore, feel safe, and experience all the wonderful things a dog should get to enjoy.

Her past does not define her future. Maple May is ready for her next chapter — one filled with love, adventures, and a family who will cherish her forever. 🏡🐶

❤️ READY TO MAKE MAPLE MAY PART OF YOUR FAMILY?

Let’s help this deserving girl find the forever home she has always needed. Her happily-ever-after starts with you! 🐾❤️

Meet Ace. This sweet boy is a 2 year old Weimaraner Mix. Ace’s family was no longer able to care for him, so he is hanging out with one of our fosters looking for his new home. Ace is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, house broken and crate trained. Ace is good with other dogs and loves snuggles. Please consider giving an Ace his new forever home.

Update on our 3 dogs from the Ohio hoarding case!

For those who haven’t been following, here’s a short recap. Thirty-two Weimaraners were surrendered from a single room in a home in Ohio, where they were living in horrendous conditions. Several Weimaraner rescue groups stepped up to help, and AWR took in three of these precious dogs: Bonnie, River, and Peanut.

These dogs are understandably very shut down, but after just one week with us, they are beginning to wag their tails and show small but encouraging signs of recovery. ❤️

Unfortunately, all three have developed upper respiratory infections and are receiving veterinary care. They are on the mend, although Bonnie also has a mild case of pneumonia.

We are so grateful for the generous donations that have already been made toward their care. Their veterinary bills and medical boarding are additional expenses that add up quickly, and AWR would greatly appreciate any donation you can make to help these pups on their journey to recovery.

They have a long road ahead as they learn what it means to feel safe, loved, and experience a normal life. But with time, patience, and lots of love, we believe they will get there. ❤️🐾

Thank you for helping us give Bonnie, River, and Peanut the second chance they deserve!
