Ok, this is a big one, SK humans. Stubbs here came into a a local shelter as a kitten & he spent *3* years there being so shy & hidey in their free roam room. We adopted out his sibs Heath & Mac last year at the shop, but he was so hard to catch for transport that it took a year to get this guy into a carrier & over to SK. The question has been : is it the dogs barking & the hubbub of a shelter environment that kept him shy or was Stubbs just not into humans so much? When he arrived a few days ago we figured we'd give him another year to settle in, but after just a few days, look at this! Some incredible volunteers who knew him from his previous shelter came by to say hi & he just melted. He'll always be a shyer guy, for sure, but no doubt about it now - Stubbs loves lovin's! To work with rescues & shelters who gave him a chance & to have this space thanks to the incredible kindness of our SK humans who visit & keep our doors open is such a gift. Stubbs is that underdog that we live for here at The Smitten Kitten & his bravery & kind soul has us all ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ.So from this brave guy (& all his underdog cat buddies) thank you, thank you! ๐งก๐ค๐งก
