We’re heartbroken over a cat we never got to meet.

Last week a picture of an injured cat was shared on a page. When our director saw the post two days later, she went straight after work to where the poster had last seen the cat.

The cat was exactly where they said it was two days prior. Dead. Attacked by another animal. It had no chance of defending itself or getting away with a likely broken front arm.

This didn’t have to be the ending.

We know not everyone can trap a cat, pay for medical care, or take an animal home. But when an injured animal is seen suffering, we cannot keep scrolling and assume someone else will step in.

Please, if you see an animal in obvious distress:
• Speak up
• Reach out to rescues, shelters, and animal control
• Knock on doors nearby
• Offer temporary help if you safely can
• 𝐁𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐮𝐩

Rescues are overwhelmed, but we would always rather receive one more urgent message than arrive too late.

Posting a photo is an important first step, but animals need continued advocacy to make sure help arrives in time.

An injured cat died scared and alone outside. The least we can do is let this be the moment we all choose to act faster next time.

Miss Elizabeth is a confident, independent lady who knows exactly what she wants and isn’t afraid to let you know it. She enjoys attention and affection, but always on her own terms. When she’s in the mood for pets, she’ll happily soak them up, and when she’s had enough, she’ll politely let you know.

She would be best as an only pet.

She has a strong, self-assured personality and would do best with someone who appreciates a cat with clear boundaries and a little sass. Miss Elizabeth isn’t clingy, but she values her people and enjoys being part of the home in her own way.
