Some clients become part of the story.
Almost four years ago, I first met Renee’s daughter, Ellery, through Pip and Tank. Over time, that relationship grew into caring for Rene’s own animals, Blue and LB, and over the last year especially, their home became one of the most familiar places in our entire Solgave rhythm.
Rene is one of those clients I lovingly call “Type A.” Her expectations were high. Ours are too.
And that matters.
Because every client teaches us something different. There is no single service manual that magically creates a perfect experience for every family. We have to learn the people, the animals, the home, the routines, the preferences, the little details that matter — and then adapt our care around them.
Renee made us better.
Her trust gave my team an extraordinary amount of consistent work. Her standards challenged us to sharpen our communication, our systems, and the way we think about what professional pet care should actually feel like from the client side.
We’ve been part of the whole journey lately — walks around home showings, keeping Blue and LB comfortable while the house was on the market, watching the move toward Chicago gradually become real.
And now the place has sold.
We still have a little time before goodbye, and I’m not getting too sentimental just yet, because several of us fully intend to go love on Blue and LB before they leave. But this is one of those relationships worth pausing to honor.
Over the last year, so many members of my team have cared for this family. That consistent work created real opportunities and real paychecks for people I care about deeply. Beyond the business side, we got to know them.
That’s the part I never want to lose as Solgave grows.
Clients will move. Lives will change. Teams will evolve. But while someone is part of our world, we want to know them well, serve them well, and hopefully leave each other a little better than we started.
Renee, Blue and LB — thank you for trusting us, challenging us, and letting us be part of this chapter.
Chicago is getting some good ones. ❤️
