Franklin County Animal Shelter

Franklin County Animal Shelter Until they find their families, they're a part of ours. We provide medical treatment including vaccinations and sterilization to all animals prior to adoption.

Since 1974, our purpose has been to provide temporary care and shelter to stray, homeless, and abandoned animals. FCAS serves the community as an adoption facility where loving families and pets needing homes come together. The shelter strives to educate the public in the proper care of pets including increasing public awareness of the companion animal overpopulation issue.

Online registration closes tomorrow, so be sure to sign up for our 11th annual Strut for Strays 5K fundraiser! We'll have Western Maine CART - Community Animal Response Team there to share info about how they help pets in emergency situations, and tickets for our Autumn Raffle available to buy in person! With our professional timer, Randy Easter from Northeast Race Timing, you can make it a serious race, or a casual stroll through the beautiful trail around Titcomb Mountain with your four-legged friends along for the walk!

Over the coming weeks, keep your eyes peeled for some familiar names, and some new businesses to check out, as we give the highest level of gratitude to the local businesses who have made it possible to help even more homeless animals in Franklin County through their generosity!

The Ugly Dumpling food truck has Asian-American cuisine including dumplings, ramen, and other dishes made with local ingredients.
