🐾 Sanskrit is ready for his forever home! 🐾

Our sweet Sanskrit (“Krit”) has been through so much, and he deserves a family of his very own. When he first came to us, he tested heartworm positive. Over the past two months, he bravely completed treatment through our medical clinic — and now he’s healthy, healing, and ready for his next chapter.

To help him decompress from the stress of the shelter, Sanskrit is currently staying in a loving foster home… but we don’t want him to spend another minute without a family of his own. 💛

Krit is one of our tender, shy boys who needs a moment to warm up — but once he trusts you, he melts into the sweetest, most affectionate companion. He loves belly rubs, ear scratches, and curling up right beside you on the couch.

✨ More about Sanskrit:
• About 2 years old, ~25 lbs
• Possibly Shepherd / Shiba Inu / Terrier mix
• LOVES other dogs and gains confidence walking with them
• Good with cats
• Low–medium energy and a champion couch snoozer
• Nervous around strangers and may do best in a home without young children
• Walks well on leash and enjoys outdoor adventures with his dog friends

🦃💛 ICYMI – Thanksgiving Hours

Sharing again so everyone sees it! The Farmington Animal Shelter will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, 11/27, so our team can be with their families. A small on-site crew will still make sure every pet gets dinner, cuddles, and a cozy, clean space. 🐾🫶

Give a Shelter Pet a Holiday Break! 🦃🍂

Foster a furry friend this Thanksgiving through Farmington Regional Animal Shelter’s short-term foster program!

📅 Pick-up: Friday, Nov. 21, between 12–4 p.m.
🏠 Return: Saturday, Nov. 29, between 11:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

We’ll send you home with everything you need - food, toys, treats, a harness, and a leash - so all you provide is love and a cozy spot to nap. Fostering gives pets a much-needed kennel break, helps us learn their in-home behavior for better adopter matches, and lightens our workload during the holiday rush.

Ready to help? Complete a foster application and browse pets in need of foster care. (All altered dogs listed as available for adoption online are eligible.)
