✨ Throwback Thursday! ✨

Justin (now Jack) was adopted last year after spending 7 months in the shelter. Here’s an update from his family:

“Jack (formerly Justin) is thriving!! He was very skinny when I adopted him but has gained 15 pounds and is as healthy as can be. He'd spend all day outside basking in the summer sun or running around the backyard if I'd let him and gets annoyed when I make him come back inside . He loves to play hard and then crash hard on anything soft! He has been the best adventure buddy I could ask for. It's been amazing to watch him grow and become more and more comfortable over the last year. He has really attached himself to me and I love him so much!

I've had rescue pets my whole life and I will never get over how beautiful it is to watch them realize they are safe and cared for in a place that is now their very own forever home ”

Meet George! 🐾❤️

George is still the same sweet, goofy, lovable guy he's always been.

At home, George is easygoing and enjoys the simple things like lounging on the couch, spending time outside, and being close to his people. He is happiest when he can choose where he wants to spend his time- inside or outside. If you're looking for a cuddle buddy, George is definitely your guy. If someone is relaxing on the couch or lying down, he'll happily snuggle up right next to them.

George does have some resource-guarding tendencies around food and bones with other dogs, and he prefers to have his humans all to himself. He also likes to communicate and play with his mouth and is still learning good manners through training and positive reinforcement.

As a tripod pup, George does best when he's allowed to set his own pace. Outings and busy places aren't really his thing, but he's perfectly content hanging out at home where he can relax and enjoy life on his terms.

George is a loyal, funny, affectionate companion with a lot of love to give. He's looking for a family that will appreciate his personality and understand his needs.

What are the benefits of spaying and neutering your pets?

Longer lifespans-
◾Females that get spayed have a decreased chance of contracting breast tumors or uterine infections, it’s better if done before the first heat cycle.
◾Males that get neutered are more protected from testicular and prostate cancers.
Reduces overpopulation-
◾Fixing your animals helps prevent unwanted litters that result in larger stray populations

Roaming and territory-
◾Males will be less likely to roam trying to find a mate
◾They are also less likely to mark their territory by ‘spraying’

All pets adopted from the shelter will be spayed or neutered before going to their forever homes 💗

Looking for a new furry companion who is sweet, loyal, AND on the small side? Zach might be just the dog for you!

Zach is pretty small, he weighs about 23 pounds- he’s around a year old and fully grown. He does well with other dogs, though he can be a little awkward with playing, he loves to have some canine companionship. He also does good with cats.

Zach would do better around older and more patient people, younger kids cause him some anxiety. He can be pretty shy and anxious when meeting new people, but once he warms up , he just wants to be close to you. He is housetrained, good on a leash and an excellent couch potato (with belly rubs provided).

Zach is currently taking a break from the shelter in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, email [email protected]
