Canine Castle

Canine Castle Canine Castle is a fun and safe place for your dog to play with other dogs. We offer overnight care

Canine Castle offers a fun and safe place for dogs to play with other dogs while you are at work or out of town. All dogs must be spayed or neutered, have all of their shots and be able to play nicely with other dogs. The dogs spend their day wrestling and chasing each other around and they go home happy and tired.

Keep in mind that if you pick up a stray dog, or let it into your yard, or put it in your car, or take it home, it becomes YOUR dog. You become fully responsible for its care and behaviors. Even if your involvement is for a short period of time.
Your responsibilty ends when it is given back to the owners, given to an animal control officer, or given to the local shelter.
We all mean well when we see or find a stray. But before you step in and be the 'hero', think about the situation and formulate a plan. 8 times out of ten the dog is friendly, the owners are looking for it, and is soon reunited with its owners.
But sometimes that is not the case. If you put a stray in your car, or take it home, and it bites or mauls you, a family member, a family pet or a neighbor or community member, the dog's owners are not responsible for medical or vet bills, you are.
If it gets injured while in your care, you are responsible for the care and treatment, not the owners.
If it spreads disease to family pets, you are responsible for the treatments and vet visits, not the owners.
Sometimes it can takes weeks to find the owner.
Basically, a dog on a leash you are holding, in your car, yard or in your home - regardless of how it got there or how noble were the intentions - that dog is now YOUR dog.
Sometimes it is best to let the professionals, such as local animal control officers and rangers, deal with the situation, especially if you are not sure what to do, or have any doubt about the temperament of the dog. It is what they are trained for, and it is what they deal with on a daily basis...
