Lots of feelings reading this 🤗🥰😔
I read hundreds of stories about beloved cats that have crossed the rainbow bridge, each week, and it’s hard not to take on all of those emotions.
I can see why Veterinarians have such an emotionally challenging time of things.
And so yesterday when my cat Jack and I were doing one of our favorite activities, (looking for lizards,) I started thinking…
….
Let’s all take a step back for a second.
….
Imagine you are a cat…
…born into this world, and adopted by a loving home.
Your only “jobs” in life are to eat, play and sleep.
You’re fed snacks and treats and given cushy places to sleep, and even if you do something bad… you’re showered with praise for how great of a job you did.
You are surrounded by love, and pets, and scratches, and massages everyday.
You’re basically royalty with four paws and whiskers.
To a cat with a loving home, their entire life is paradise.
To them it’s not short.
To them it’s the perfect amount of time, and the perfect life.
To them, they had it all.
To them… They had you.
And they aren’t sad about that.
For, all our cats knew, their entire lives, was love.
If you ask me…
… we should all be so lucky.
Imagine how you would feel near the end of your time, if you had lived a purrfect life full of love.
You wouldn’t be sad.
You’d be smiling.
So today, let’s fill our hearts, and smile.
We smile for those who have come and gone.
We smile for those still by our side.
…And we smile for the ones yet to find us.
