Oh, look. Another camera flash for the radish microgreens. Groundbreaking.
We see you walking right past our basket at the farm stand to grab those trendy little boxes of broccoli greens. We get it. They’re the "it-greens". Let’s be honest: we are pea tendrils, and we are completely outclassing them while you treat us like a faint plate decoration.
Here is what’s actually going on inside our curly little heads:
• We don’t taste like dirt. No offense to our earthy neighbors, but we actually taste good: pure, sweet, crisp summer snap peas.
• We aren't fragile little background actors. You don't need to place us gently with tweezers. Our winding vines give a magnificent, sturdy crunch that holds its own.
• We are secretly judging your lazy meals. That basic turkey sandwich or morning scramble? Boring. Throw a handful of us on top, and we will instantly transform your lazy Tuesday dinner into a $25 gourmet dish.
• We are absolute powerhouses. Don't let the delicate curls fool you. We are loaded with vitamins and plant-based protein. We are doing heavy lifting here.
Stop sleeping on us. Next time you see our tendrils at the market, don't walk past. Grab a box, pile us high on your burger, stir us into your pasta, and let us do our job. 🍃😤
