The Baldwin Humane Society, formerly BARC, is a no-kill adoption agency. Established in 1979. Pet homelessness continues to be an issue all over Baldwin County.
(350)

Established in 1979, we were the first animal advocacy group in Baldwin County. Our goal is to eliminate the number of abused and abandoned pets through spay/neuter, education, rescue and adoption. As a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, we rely entirely upon donations and do not receive any government funding. We rescue, rehabilitate, and find homes for hundreds of abused, abandoned and neglected pets annually. The Baldwin Humane Society is dedicated to working with individuals in the public as well as other local organizations to provide programs like low cost spay/neuter vouchers, our adoption and foster program, public medical assistance, trap-neuter-return services for feral cats, and more!

Happy Halloween! 🎃
We're ending our Halloween photo shoot with our longest resident, Dylan, who has been here for a full year.

Dylan is a 6 year lab mix. A little bit of an old soul, he will play a short game of fetch but mostly he enjoys chilling with his chew toys in a comfy spot. He's passionate about treats, and knows how to sit and shake!

He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and flea/heartworm preventative, microchipped, and heartworm negative! He would rather be an only pet.

Next up is our long term resident Bongo! 🎃

Bongo is a chill 4 year old bluetick coonhound who doesn't show his emotion easily. He lives for his friends and once he know you he'll want nothing more than to hang out right beside you and have his soft floppy ears scratched.

He likes to play with other dogs but gets overwhelmed by ones that don't respect his boundaries. He loves to go for walks and he also likes water!
Bongo met our dog-friendly cat and did well around him. He might chase a running cat.
He is neutered, up to date on shots and preventative, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

Next up is Sharkboy and Lavagirl! 🎃

These two are 12 week old terrier/hound mixes looking for a loving home. We estimate they will grow up to be between 35-45 pounds when fully grown. They are both sweethearts! Lavagirl is little more outgoing and playful than her brother who is more of a lover.

They are up to date on shots and preventative. We will cover their vet costs until they're old enough to be fixed.

Please fill out our adoption application here if you would like to come meet them:
